Trail running warm up/down 12:00 [2] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

Trail running race 1:21:12 [5] 14.8 mi (5:29 / mi) +300m 5:10 / mi

Balmoral 15miler. Ran the first 10-11 miles with Murray Strain, was hard work at times trying to keep up. After the climb round the back of ripe hill I managed to open up a gap of a few seconds. The gap got slightly bigger on the downhill glen gelder track and I was able to stretch it to 30-40s on the last climb/descent over one of the cairns. Oleg was 3rd, a few mins back. Definitely pleased with the result, felt fit and strong all the way round. The prize is a trip to Ethiopia to run at either a 10k or half marathon, should be pretty awesome!

Twice up scolty to round off the day. Legs feeling ok, bit stiff on downhills

Last run on Mull. Went north from the hostel then up a forest track and back the same way. Legs feeling good. Didn't get any hard sessions done this week but was lucky to get many runs in since we were busy from early morning til 11pm every day. Got the 15 miler at Balmoral to look forward to on Sunday

Last trips of the week done. Was out for a full 12 hours before the run so felt like going to bed instead. Luckily felt good once I got going. Ran south from the hostel then past Loch Frisa then straight up a really steep slope to the trig point I wanted to get to on Monday night. From there it was a boggy rough descent back to the hostel in time for 2 hours of evaluating the days visits

Out towards Tobermory and back. Found a nice trail to follow for half the run. Run started with a big road climb

Ran up part of the hill from the hostel then south along the coast. Had been outside all day on various field visits to feeling quite tired

5 day study trip to Mull. Started off the week with a rough boggy climb up the hill behind the hostel in Arle. Didn't get to the trig point, had to turn back. The ground was really strength sapping
