Hill running 2:30:17 [3] 18.63 mi (8:04 / mi) +1000m 6:55 / mi

From Murthly out to Birnam hill, up and down three times then back. The ground was still quite snowy at the top of the hill with some ice and lots of deep mud as well. Started off feeling pretty tired and sluggish but picked up after an hour. Felt great on the way back and put in some quicker miles

Two climbs of Caputh hill. Calfs recovered from earlier in the week. Energy levels pretty good for before breakfast

Loop from Murthly going along the River Tay then back through some estate paths, strides at the end. Legs feeling quick

Over Brimmond and Elrick hill a few times from college. Nice dry conditions, feeling good too. Did strides 2 miles from the end of the run

Calfs feeling a bit tight but better after a mile or so.

Trail running tempo 40:00 [4] 7.2 mi (5:33 / mi) +30m 5:29 / mi

40min reasonably hard run. On the railway path towards Drumoak. A few muddy bits but not too bad.

Three climbs of Scolty in evening sun. Strides at the end

Back to feeling good again. Ran from Kingswells in to college over Brimmond. First time ever to do this run without getting wet feet! The ground was dry and frozen solid so perfect for running

Trail running warm up/down 52:03 [2] 7.05 mi (7:23 / mi) +140m 6:57 / mi

Warm up run through Corsee and Brathens woods (in glorious sunshine) and down to Burnett park. Back a similar route for cool down after session. Ran out of steam a bit on the way home

Trail running intervals 16:25 [5] 3.5 mi (4:41 / mi)

Grass session, 4 x (200, 400, 800). Jog recovery of 200m after the 200s and 400m after the 400s and 800s. Felt pretty good, best session yet on the grass but probably because its slightly drier. Grass still soft and boggy, feet wet after first 200m of running!

3 decent climbs on Scolty/Goauch hill plus a lap round the lower trails. Feeling a bit tired and stiff from the weekend but loosening off on the hills. Sunny and warm
