Hill running 1:27:06 [4] 7.83 mi (11:07 / mi) +1600m 6:48 / mi

Main climb of Sierre Zinal race up to Chandolin. Started off fairly easy then did 1000m of hard climbing then eased off a bit as it flattened out. Seemed to be climbing quite well, its a really tough uphill though. Took a wrong turning and added 5 minutes on.

Cycling 3:30:00 [3]

From Anzere down to Saviese then up the Col du Sanetsch. Got up to 2000m then the road was shut because of snow. Was a tough climb, 1200m of solid uphill. Even worse was having to climb the 700m back to Anzere after

Trail running 58:38 [3] 8.59 mi (6:50 / mi) +250m 6:16 / mi

From Anzere up on to the higher bisse path. The initial climb was tiring but after that I felt really good. Moving faster and easier than any run so far

Hill running 1:25:46 [3] 7.98 mi (10:45 / mi) +1100m 7:31 / mi

Ran down to Arbaz then climbed up to the top of the Anzere ski lift. Felt a bit tired to begin with but got better. The top bit was pretty snowy and steep. Coming back down wasn't so good, ended up running down a really steep rough slope
6 PM

Trail running 32:44 [3] 4.55 mi (7:12 / mi) +150m 6:32 / mi

Out and back along the bisse path then on to another track. Feeling pretty good

Trail running 1:19:21 [3] 10.07 mi (7:53 / mi) +600m 6:39 / mi

Exploring some new routes going west from Anzere in to the next valley and back. Feeling not too bad. Walked for 4 hours in the morning so legs slightly stiff

Trail running warm up/down 40:15 [2] 5.71 mi (7:03 / mi) +10m 7:01 / mi

From Sion along the River Rhone. Most of it was a nice path, once through the industrial estate.

Road running intervals 31:00 [5] 6.0 mi (5:10 / mi) +20m 5:07 / mi

3 x 2 mile, 2minute recovery jog. Used the cycle road going out and back along the river from Sion. Felt good although it was boiling hot. Bit of a head wind on the way out, was quicker on the way back

Road running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 0.68 mi (8:50 / mi)

Recovery jog

Hill running 48:37 [3] 4.56 mi (10:40 / mi) +680m 7:17 / mi

From Anzere up part of the Alpages route, nearly to the high point then on to another path going steeply uphill. Tough climb

Hill running 1:34:33 [3] 11.06 mi (8:33 / mi) +650m 7:14 / mi

Followed the Tour des Alpages route from Anzere, adding in an extra few bits near Les Rousses. The first climb was pretty hard going and the long undulating section through the ski area was partly covered in snow. It was pretty roasting in the sun so seems to be melting quickly.
7 PM

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

Cycled from Anzere down towards Sion, took around 20-25minutes going quite cautiously on the switchbacks. Stopped just after Champlan then cycled back to Anzere through Arbaz, climbing around 850-900m. Should have kept going to Sion, wasn't sure how long it would take but it was quite quick. Didn't feel too hard, climb took an hour exactly

Trail running 1:34:21 [3] 11.82 mi (7:59 / mi) +500m 7:03 / mi

Staying in Anzere, Switzerland during June to train up until Europeans. Starting run from altitude of 1550m. Explored a few of the trails from the village. Climbed above the forest on a wide track for 30 minutes or so then dropped down to one of the bisse paths to Les Rousses and back. Great place for running. Still some snow in places though
7 PM

Trail running 24:16 [3] 3.24 mi (7:29 / mi) +90m 6:54 / mi

Followed the bisse path from Anzere until it joined another path then dropped a bit of height and came back. Feeling pretty good.
