Trail running warm up/down 23:00 [2] 3.0 mi (7:40 / mi) +20m 7:31 / mi

Warm up along River Ness and canal plus strides on the grass. Started off feeling rubbish but better by the end

Road running race 1:06:03 [5] 13.15 mi (5:01 / mi) +50m 4:58 / mi

Inverness Half. Ran in the leading pack with John N and Andrew D. Was quite windy for the first few miles but I tried to set a decent pace. Lost a bit of time on the uphill section so tried to claw back some time. Ended up getting a few seconds ahead of the other guys after 6.5 miles so pushed very hard to increase the gap and go for the win. Felt good on the last few miles in to Inverness and had the wind on my side. By the last mile I was tiring a bit but still on pace for 65.50. The last mile marker was further than expected then I couldn't get enough speed up over the last 300m on the track so missed out by a few seconds. Great to break the PB by nearly 2 minutes and win though.

Back in Inverness for half marathon. Ran along the river and canal and explored some woods near the city then did plenty strides. Not a bad city for running. Feeling exhausted after the field trip week

Staying in Inverness for next part of field trip. Ran along the River and Canal out and back. Did just over 4 miles at around 5.40/mile on the way back to stretch the legs

On west coast near Fort William for field trip. Poor run, forgot to charge the head torch and it died once I was in the forest.
