Road running warm up/down 24:00 [2] 5.0 km (4:48 / km)

Jogging to the race start then some more running and strides. Took ages to get through the city so was running late with the warm up, then the race was delayed by 15mins so had enough time

Road running race 1:05:21 [5] 21.1 km (3:06 / km)

Berlin half marathon. Flat course and high quality field with plenty around my pace. Pretty poor weather conditions with a strong wind for the first half and very wet roads. Got a good amount of shelter from the wind running in the group but the pace was slower than what I hoped. In the second half the wind was behind and we made up some time and it looked possible to get under 65. Things were still going well until about 16-17km until a 400m section of really slippery wet road, almost like it had oil on it. I ran in Salomon sense ultra which don't have a very soft rubber for wet roads and I was slipping with every step and falling behind the group. Another guy in the group struggled at this section too but nobody else had problems. After this I pushed hard and managed to catch up but I was exhausted and with 2km to go I dropped off the group. The last 1km was the hardest I've ever done and it felt so slow. Happy to run a PB but quite annoyed to have had this problem

Trying to find some good places to run with no snow. Still loads pretty much everywhere except exposed south facing slopes

Lap of the clear path loop. Ran fast for the last few minutes to get the legs moving a bit

In the forest on the ice paths. Needed the spikecross shoes otherwise it would have been lethal. Another week or two of warm weather and most of the paths should be melted enough

Checking out some of the paths to link up as many bits without snow as possible. Did some strides at the end. Legs feeling fine

Round the short road loop before and after session. Warm sunshine and legs feeling much better than yesterday

1km, 800m, 600m, 400m, 200m with long recovery of easy running in between. Legs going faster than usual
