Orienteering race (Park O) 22:54 [5] ** 2.85 km (8:02 / km)
shoes: Intergrators

Park O meet at Cat Rock. It was a horrible day in terms of timing for me. Went to the Berman's (late) for O shoes and a compass. Went home, left for the meet plenty early. 10min later I was not 400m for my door step. I also forgot my wallet. took the 1min to get back and tried a different route. Not much better. 95 was also clogged. Get to the correct area and don't have the directions so miss the turn off. Long story short I am 30min late. Warm up fast. Put on the NEW SHOES. Run and notice yellow type controls. This is a problem since I cannot plan the next few legs and can't read the detail on the map (good thing there wasn't any). Full speed the whole time. Legs started giving out half way through. Very clean run. Physical speed was holding me back.

Note

I am noticing, I had tea in the morning of all the meets I am happy with. Did not have have tea this weekend, I definately could have gone 5min faster. Same with Prospect hill (assuming the time is correct, I heard timex has some issues [but MD can also have math issues]).

Orienteering race 1:13:27 [5] *** 7.2 km (10:12 / km)
shoes: Brooks trail

Meet at College Wood Durham, NH. I was hoping to know most of the places and run fast but many fallen trees and few spruce had other feelings. In addition the controls were not on the trails. Ran well, legs felt strong. Nav was off, one hill I thought was going to be a valley (1min). Stopped and paniced 30m before I could have spiked a control (3min). Lost 4-5min from bad nav. Really hot. Heartrate was way up 50% of the time. Difficult control placement. Had to stand on them to see them, also on minor features. Good course, looking forward to running there again. Glad they mapped the oldest pine tree in NH.

Tied Jim A (UNO) to the second.

Ate a whole pizza on Saturday night. I guess I was hungery. Didn't feel so good waking up in the morning.

Bike 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Serotta CSI

27miles+/- rode out concord Ave to 95 and kept going till lincoln rd? to Hanscom back on MM trail. Rode with a guy who kicked my ass on the up hill and couldn't stay with me on the down hills. He was a real strong climber and my legs were not ready for those hills.

I have been looking for the cambridge TOH, to no avail. I did find the TOH offices on the back side of Hanscom.

Woke up with a hang over, skipped going to work. Finshed the dresser

Next door neighbor died in the front yard. I only saw him once before.
