cycling (commute) 30:00 [3] 12.0 km (2:30 / km)

Ride to wrok, then down to Milsons Point, to get ferry to E Balmain, then ride to Mort Dock for "sprint" O

orienteering race 25:34 [3] *** 4.0 km (6:24 / km) +100m 5:41 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#1)

Sprint O at Mort Dock, Balmain.
Should have been excellent, a great new area for Sprint O, but an over-long course (winning time 50-80% over sprint RWT), some odd use of control descriptions (outside of cliff, rather than foot ??), coupled with my own dumb mistakes made it a bit less fun than it could have been.

At the end of the course I saw Joel P punching 11 and going to 13. I called to him to double check (I know its against the rules, but the course had crossed this area a few times and it was easy to make a dumb mistake). He was pretty insistent that he was OK... I then didn't chase him down, probably thinking that I'd made a dumb mistake in thinking he was wrong and wanting to avoid face-to-face embarrassment.

8 AM

run 1:22:48 [3] 13.0 km (6:22 / km) +225m 5:52 / km
shoes: Asics Gel-1160

Reviving an old weekend favourite. Set off a bit late, when I up to Longueville Road I ran into Jo Mitchell. Usual Hobart type thing, except that we were in Sydney.

Felt very sprightly for most of the run - at 44 minutes I was thinking about going back via Blackman Park and Iggies, but by 80 minutes I was happy that I hadn't tacked on the extra 20 minutes or so.

cycling (commute) 43:00 [3] 16.0 km (2:41 / km) +195m 2:32 / km

Very wet - saw 2 bikes going each way and that was it.

cycling (commute) 23:00 [3] 8.0 km (2:53 / km) +90m 2:43 / km

Ride home - spinning a low ratio.
10 AM

run 46:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:45 / km) +190m 5:08 / km
shoes: Asics Gel-1160

Run to work (late) - not raining, but pretty sweaty and many cobwebs. Removed large cobweb from face after about 3 hours at work... that must have been a good look.

7 AM

cycling (commute) 22:00 [3] 8.0 km (2:45 / km) +70m 2:38 / km

Ride to work - 33 cyclists on the BP. Last night's gridlock must have scared people into it. Or maybe I was so early I caught the tail end of the recreational riders and the start of the commuters.
5 PM

run 40:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:43 / km) +100m 5:20 / km
shoes: Asics Gel-1160

Run home - shower just as I set off which took the edge off a sweaty day.
