orienteering race 32:09 [3] 4.5 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Disappointing finish to a disappointing day.

In the morning I did a few hours hard labour breaking rocks in the hot sun at the school, only to get to the BBQ just as the last sausage was given away to one of the students. Not happy - the sausage had kept me working through the last half hour.... and more sausages are sold just 50m away. Anyway...

THEN I get to pick up my GoGet car, only to find no car. Aware of the fact that I previously went to the wrong spot, I run back home to check. Some numbskull has either not returned it or has just taken it. Arrange to pick up another car, but its been a frantic 40 minutes of chasing roundin the hot sun.

Get to the event area to find that three controls have been attacked - one unit gone completely, only the casing of another one is left and a third is recovered from boy & parent. Parent outrageously claims that stealing gear is fair game and that we shouldn't be orienteering on public land.

I'm almost the last starter, but I get to third control to find that someone has smashed up the lock, presumably in the minutes between Brooner's visit and mine. Same story at #12, which I tie up, but don't punch.

Jog round grumpily.
