cycling 1:03:00 [3] 21.0 km (3:00 / km)

To work, to-from soccer.
Quad injury feeling like a dead-leg haematoma now.

soccer 26:00 [3] 3.2 km (8:07 / km)
(injured)

Soccer - catch up game.
They had 3 real players, we had one (Costa, saving himself in goal).
Played tight man-on-man D for most of game, scoring a breakaway goal early. They got one back at end of 2nd half when we got a bit ragged.

Really enjoyed it - couldn't kick with left leg.

ultimate 1:10:00 [3] 9.0 km (7:47 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#3)

Last week of the hat, won a game, lost a game and managed to reincarnate a 20 year old argument about whether it was a foul if a throwers backhand follow through hit the marker in the face (der).

I was arguing with Glenn, suspect he may have been a cause of the original discussion in the way back when someone felled a Banana.

Anyway it was me got hit today but not very hard and I didn't call a foul.

orienteering race 1:12:43 [4] ***** 7.0 km (10:23 / km) +200m 9:05 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Gumble - as hard as it gets. Too hard for the club's M50 contingent !
Extremely complex granite, low to OK runnability, quite a lot of low visibility. Hard to hold a bearing.

S-1 - very low visibility, planned to run on a bearing until I hit a fire-break fairly close to control. As I was losing hope, hit the creek parallel to my route near the break, then magnavigated into the rock.
1-2 - tried same tactic with one of the few paths. Worked OK.
3 - you beauty, along creek to creek junction, but then into very low visaibility scrub and managed to lose a few minutes.
4 - punished myself uphill for 600m, then really can't remember how I got it after leaving big clearing.
5,6 - good legs, magnifier helped again at end. 7 just lot a little time right at the end mistaking some rock at the top of the spur, but not bad.
8 - Big miss. Must have left clearing S of leg direction, then eventually decided to go to creek to relocate and it was miles away. Picked up on some bare rocks near creek. Lucky to contain this to maybe 6-8 minutes, a lot of people had an epic here.
9 - Ran into tree about 200 m short of control.
, must have been a bit stunned as I couldn't make myself navigate. People kept asking if I was OK. I felt OK physically but was probably a bit dopey.

Next leg was easy down a creek and then when I had to navigate again, I struggled. Jogged to finish to find almost whole field had done even worse.

orienteering race 35:24 [3] *** 6.0 km (5:54 / km) +100m 5:27 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Middle Distance state league #n, Rocky Falls.

Debut for the magnifier - playing around with it at the start, it came loose and I couldn't tighten it up in the start lane. Ended up stoppin en route to #1 to put it in my bum pocket.

Fairly straightforward rocky spur gully, but had a few problems where map seemed a bit distorted (I've produced a few maps like that myself over the journey, so I should handle it better). Leg was OK, maybe 90%.

Note
(injured)

Bruising starting to come out at top of my quad - quite yellow.

The magnifier arrived yesterday, so I'm sure my improved navigation will offset any loss of speed caused by having to hop round.
