SOL, Short Brown Culbin East

Messed up right out of the start, crossing the flat bit OK, then just bumbling rather than executing a plan. That meant Neil C caught me and we spent the rest of the race playing hide and seek.

Missed #5 which was dumb , needed more cautious attack, but just dived in and ended too low. Missed #7 - too far W, despite fairly careful approach to flat bit S of control. Ended up relocating over to E, lost 5 minutes. Smaller miss at 8, struggled to get out of brambles and gorse at 10, but fairly clean run to finish.

Did start to have a minor wobbly on the long leg which partially explains why Charlie too so much time out of me.

Plenty of beans, not enough brains.

Middle Distance Blue course Culbin.

Pretty clean, one small mistake before #18 where I lost contact early in the leg, drifted away from the detail and ended up using a road to relocate. That was enough to let Nick L beat me.

A bit left in the tank.

Training with Phil on BOC 2015 course at Beechenhurst. Analysing the legs where Charlie lost time to see if we can find the weak point in his armour.

Great weather for a run in the forest.

orienteering 1:15:00 [3] 11.75 km (6:23 / km)
slept:6.5 weight:68kg shoes: Asics GT 1000 #4 (blue)

Putting out sss controls. Started at about 12.30, cloudy but quite warm. Judging by post run weight when I checked in for a shower I sweated out well over 3 litres. Not counting this as victory in my race v Phil to 69kg.

update: I did get around to my quarterly haircut today, that could be a demi-keg.
