Goanna at The Clay Pan.
One of my favourite formats on one of my favourite local areas. Went out to #1 following Toby, but leaving #1 saw Mark and Paula ahead of me, it turned out later that they had skipped #1 (you can skip 2 controls). Let that prey on me as we ran towards #4. I was planning to skip #6. Think I folded my map at this point hiding #4, so was confused when the pack went for it. I ploughed on thinking I was going to #5, and that I may have overshot... So decided to skip #5, messed up #6 big time... And so on. Not a great outing and of course I got dnfd. Fun though.

Lunch time leg stretch.
Running underneath Epping Road bridge there was an angler on the footpath and I had to decide whether to squeeze between him and the steep sloped river bank or him and his gear. I went gear-side. Mistake. Funny how fish don't notice the fishing line isn't it ?

Decided that the way to keep myself alert for a midnight work presentation was to eat a lot of dark chocolate. Headache of hangover proportions this morning, so finally ran to work at about 12 and felt much better for it.

Tip: Stay away from the Whitakers 72% Dark Ghana.

River south loop to work, felt pretty good and almost niggle-free. Must have been all the Swedish chocolate I ate last night (Lyra has hidden the other half of the bar I think).
