10 AM

orienteering race 48:40 [3] 6.29 km (7:44 / km) +154m 6:54 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 (#7 Black)

Metro league, Mitchell Park.
Good planning - didn't really pick the flat route to #1 until I was going over the first spur, so got caught at #1 and caught Shingo there. Good for a bit, but the wheels came off at #8, where I realised that it was a hard control, but executed badly from my ap (the flat sput with clearing on the side). I eventually went back to there and went in pretty much on a bearing, finding the control but still unable to read the map.
By then Greg had caught me and led me and Shingo astray before I made another mistake of my own later.

Fun, great practice for next week.

Yay - everybody got round with no mechanicals. Jason, Nick, Jock, Peter, Dawn and Gunty. Decent pace. Lots of smoke in Akuna Bay and a strong N wind, happy to ride up the highway with Turramurra crew outbound.
