shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 (#7 Black)

QB3 Day 3, bush Sprint, Rhylstone Common
Fairly clean, just catching people through #2, then a little distracted by my minute man going off the wrong way, so I had to engage map reading to find #3 and then fairly clean from there on ana rea I'd struggled with before.

Beat Freemo by 1'40" and was 40" adrift after yesterday, so got the overall win. Hand injury looking a bit ugly, didn't help that I fell over again today on it.

QB3 Day 2 - Prosser's Reef

Interesting day out - vague spur gully to start with and I went pretty fast (Phil would like this terrain), catching and passing Shane at about #5.

So first 8 controls were pretty fast, then messed up the attack into #9, ended up on wrong bit of the spur and lost a few minutes.

#10-#11, pushed pretty hard up the long hill and thought I was on the track to the left of the red line, but was on another track. Rationalised my way all the way down the slope to the river... then attacked through some fences and managed to miss the control or went up wrong gully. [edit: just didn't run far enough up the gully - the GPS shows all] Checked out every other gully before relocating. Threw away a lot of time on that leg.

QB3 day 1 - middle distance, Carwell's Labyrinth

Messed up #1 - uncertain how far along the ridge I was, so attacked too early, then fudged about.
Lost a little time on the easy flatter termite mound legs, a little oxygen debt after racing Ali up the hill to #11. Then messed up #14, drifting off the main ridge near the end of the leg, which was very dumb.

Control were hung so that we could often see them on the line of approach which made things a bit easy, similarly some of the location choices made the legs easy.

Nice forest and rockery.
