stretching 11:00 [3]

4 PM

orienteering 26:26 intensity: (36 @1) + (16 @2) + (4:57 @3) + (11:26 @4) + (9:11 @5) 4.35 km (6:05 / km) +43m 5:48 / km
ahr:144 max:164 shoes: Hoka OneOne SpeedGoat 2

Raining all day, atmospherically misty in Balmain.

This felt like a better run mechanically than the last few outings, probably doing some better warm-up helped and I ran a little harder. Good course, less rain and more magnification would have avoided having to stand stock-still a few times.

Dropping off more gear for next weeks actual orienteering event in the bush.. so I drove up to Snives and rode the Akuna loop with Nick, Guentie, Simon (eventually), Hamish and Mounty.
10 AM

orienteering 23:00 intensity: (3 @1) + (2:30 @2) + (9:30 @3) + (8:52 @4) + (2:05 @5) 3.0 km (7:40 / km)

SOS multi-level, very complex for the multi-level bits. Body stiff and sore. A weeks of stretching and icing ahead of me.

Missed a control and Lyra was carving me up early, but tired in the heat.

Failed attempt to ride to ultimate - realised I'd forgotten my shoes.

Another layout score, but let's talk chocolate, Cadburys, English Cadburys.

There was a golden age between September and early December 2020 when you could buy 250g bars of the stuff in Coles. Then it went as suddenly as it came.

I'm a glass half full person, so EVERY time I've been in Coles since, I've checked for the return of the made in Bourneville good stuff... and today it paid off. In about the same spot in the aisle as it used to be in the overseas chocolate section, across the top of the chocolate fush was a single bar of the good stuff. Very dusty and best before was last month.

So I bought it, but now I'm wracked with paranoia - has someone wise to my habits planted a spiked bar there ? Will the bar still be edible ? Should I even reveal its existence to my family ?
