Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 5) 7:07 [4] 1.37 km (5:12 / km)

Kippax Lake Leg 1 - MB
Clean run and 3rd on the leg.
9 AM

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 5) 8:11 [4] 1.49 km (5:30 / km)

Kippax Lake Leg 2 - MB
One mistake in the maze. Had a feeling something was wrong as I exited teh maze but too late to correct. 30sec penalty so a lowly 22nd on the leg.
10 AM

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 5) 7:22 [4] 1.39 km (5:18 / km)

Kippax Lake Leg 3 - MB
All goiung well until 12 and 13 which I missed completely going to 14 (I think). Total of one minute in penalties so 19th on this leg and a disappointing 15th on the day.

Overall I was 5th for the 5 days. Would have had to run day 3 and done better on day 4 to have any chance of overhauling Peter Annetts who was 4th.

Really enjoyed the diiferent format of the 5 days this year, the only downside in my eyes was combining the Summer Series for day 3, a sprint would have been far better (and I may have even run).

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 4) 47:09 [4] 6.57 km (7:11 / km)

Darks Common - MB
Very scrappy run and very surprised to be 5th on the day. Took the track options as much as possible for the first 9 controls south of the road. Big mistake from 13 to 14 where I seemed to have done a banana and ended up above the Great Western Highway. Another mistake at 16 and one final one at 19 where it seemed a lot further through the bush than I thought. Courses could have been better and the printing was shocking.

Note
(injured)

Hammy still sore so decided 45 mins pounding the streets wouldn't be ideal if I want to run the next two days.

Left hamstring trying to catch Ewan!
10 AM

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 2) 14:26 [4] 2.61 km (5:32 / km)

Cockatoo Island - Hard 2 (MB)
Well I'm glad that went off well and everyone enjoyed themselves. After years of thinking the Island would make a good venue it lived up to expectations with positive comments all around.

Ewan was my 2 minute man (or boy). Caughty sight of him at 5 then lost him again at 6 after some dithering, back on his heals at 9 only to lose him again where he correctly took the low route to teh control whereas I went high and had to go down the stairs. No chance of catching him after this especially as my left hammy started to play up. Great course from Undy. Finished 7th on the day, one second behing O-ing & Scott Simson.

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 1) 24:04 [4] 5.01 km (4:48 / km)

Georges Heights - Hard 2 (Men B)
Long sprint format. Pleased to get 1 cleanly as it seemed to throw a few people. Clean through the next few, probably wasted some time planning route to 10, through the wedding at 11 and struggled up the hill to 13. Took the northern road route to 16 which was sub-optimal and then clean to the finish. 5th on the day and behind Ali George!

Running 1:10:45 [3] 10.56 km (6:42 / km)

Christmas Day run from the Wilkinson's.
The group spilt after about 3k leaving Undy, Jock and I to do the long loop. Pretty shafted by the end.
