Saint Quirin, La Croix Guillaume - Course F1 (M55A)
A fair amount of track running interspersed with some trickier controls to keep you honest. 9th on the day again to finish up 8th overall, shame days 1 and 3 let me down. A great event again with perfect weather, we’ll be back.

Saint Quirin, les quatres chemins - F1 (M55)
After the 300m run to the start trinagle an enjoyable course with a mixture of rock interspersed with open forest running. Only hesitation was when I hit the track coming out of 10 when it took me a biit of time to get oriented. 9th on the day. Poor Ewan mispunched meaning he doesn't get to run with a top 5 bib on day 5.

Orienteering long (O'France - day 3) 1:01:15 [3] 8.0 km (7:39 / km)
shoes: Inov8 212 (black & red)
Hartzviller - Le Grand Metzing - Course F1 (M55)
A typical flat northern European forest with plenty of paths/tracks, some a lot more distictive than others on the ground but less so on the map. Absolute shocker to 1 losing over 5 mins. Lots of other wobbles as was not always sure what track I was on. GPS fail (i.e. I hadn't charged it despite it claiming it was charged) so no idea where I lost the other 10 mins on the winner. 24th so not a good result. Mind you compared to Paula who managed to blow30 mins on her second control I shouldn't complain.

A good run today with a 4th place. Tentative to 1 then no real issues after that. Enjoyed the big buttresses on 8, 9 and 10. A reasonable amount of track running before deciding when to dive into the forest.

Orienteering race (O'France - day 1) 1:15:27 [3] 8.7 km (8:40 / km)
shoes: Inov8 212 (black & red)
Lettenbach - Le Streitwald - Course F1 (M55)
Totally confused at the start triangle and headed off on a track 90 degrees away from the one I should have taken - over a 3 min error from such a stupid mistake. 2 was a cave and I assumed this was at the bottom of a cliff, it wasn't and was halfway down the side so had to climb back up to it once I was on the righyt outcrop. Some brutal climbs meaning it was more of a physical rather than technical course. 22nd on the day.

Abreschviller - Course F (H55)
A bit hestitative at the start punching a control too early before I got my head into gear. Went direct on the hill side between 4 and 5 which was a mistake as I should have gone back down to the road. Something screwy with 14 as I ended up with a negative split and a final time that was 1.40 less than my watch time which gave me 4th position (have no idea if this was accurate or not).
