Orienteering race (O'France 2016 Day 5) 1:34:31 [3] 8.51 km (11:06 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Guilhaumard - Course E (H50)
Another epic but thankfully not quiet in the same category as the day before. Undy caught me at 1 where we both had gone slightly astray, together at 2, different routes to 3 and then came across each other on way to 4 with different attack points for control. It all went horribly wrong for me at 5 with my biggest time loss of the week, then rounded it off with a shocker at 9 where I couldn't even use a simple bearing to get to the control.

All in all a great week of orienteering with a very challenging (and memorable) last two days.

Plo de las Conquas - Course E (H50)
Oh my that was something! Didn't start well taking 17 mins to the first control, overshot 2, no idea at 3, okay(ish) but slow through to 10, big time losses at 10 and 11, especially 10 where had no idea where I was (again nearly in the circle before heading away from control). Not other major issues to the finish. Probably the hardest course I've ever done, don't recall ever being out for over 2 hours before. Luckily it was reasonably cool. Longest time on course was a stunning 4:33!

Puech Roucous (extrait) - Course E (H50)
Last of the easier days before the fun begins! Surprisingly well (for me) through the first 9 controls with nothing but a few wobbles. Bit of a direction mishap coming out of 9 where I misread a valley, stumbled unconvincingly through 10 and 11 thanks to the elephant tracks. Pulled up short at 12 then misread contours on the way to 13 and managed to end up heading north on east side of 12 rather than going SW. At least I was under the hour.

Orienteering race (O'France 2016 Day 2) 1:05:30 [4] 7.57 km (8:39 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Le Rageal - Course E (H50)
Didn't like the pine forest having trouble with 2 (ran south along the track too far) and 5 (very close then lost confidence where I was). Major problems with 9 and 10 where totally confused with the rock and thick vegetation so plenty of time bined.

Orienteering race (O'France 2016 day 1) 1:09:35 [4] 8.58 km (8:07 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Puech Roucous - Course E (H50)
A reasonably open course without any of complex rock/thick vegtation of later days. A bit of trouble getting to 7, perhaps should have gone in from the south, and overshot 8 and relocated off the track. Best result of the week (and that's not saying much)!

Orienteering race (O'France 2016 prologue ) 17:33 [4] 3.19 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Nant Village - course E (H50)
Fun course around the village and surrounding alleyways. Only found out from Paula (still in Australia) two days later that I had mispunched as the split printer wasn't working. Looking at RG over a week later seems I punched a control in an alley too early at 5.
