Sunday Jan 28

Event: QOC Hemlock Overlook

orienteering 2:41:00 [2] 7.8 km (20:38 / km)
red course at hemlock overlook. I'm starting to wonder if i'll ever get rid of this cough. felt fine the day before the meet, but the second that sub-freezing air hit my lungs i was hacking like a tuberculosis patient. couldn't run much as a result, and i lost a lot of time making stupid mistakes. oh well.

Saturday Jan 27

Note
tidewater striders distance series 10k

Wednesday Jan 24

running (treadmill) 1:00:00 [3] 6.5 mi (9:13 / mi)
strength/core 25:00 [2]
just did whatever weights i could get my hands on.

Monday Jan 22

running (treadmill) 40:00 [4] 4.6 mi (8:41 / mi)
as usual, my motivation to work out seems to be inversely proportional to my level of boredom. only took me 45 minutes today from when i got to work to when i left for the gym. not entirely sure this was the intent of mando study. oh well.
running (treadmill) 10:00 [2]
warm-up
biking (stationary trainer) 30:00 [3]
strength/core (free weights/machines) 15:00 [3]
arms, sit-ups, whatever else looked interesting and didn't have some muscle-bound marine sitting on it

Saturday Jan 20

running (cross-country) 33:00 [4] 5 km (6:36 / km)
(sick)
Mud in your eye xc 5k race at Mount Trashmore. The sub-freezing temperatures and my recent case of bronchitis made this a lot harder than I had expected. I've been feeling better this week, but running indoors didn't really prepare me for the race this morning. It felt like a sizable population of jellyfish, along with a small but spirited contingent of blowfish had suddenly taken up residence in my lungs. fun.
orienteering (extreme-o) 2:00:00 [3]
(sick)
OHR extreme-o event at Northwest River park in Chesapeake. Cold. Muddy. Wet. Thorny. Still feeling tired/achy from the 5k earlier this morning. And the freezing mid-thigh to waist deep swamp water was an extra-special treat.

biking (stationary trainer) 35:00 [3]
strength/core (arms) 20:00 [3]

felt better than yesterday.

Tuesday Jan 16

running (treadmill) 35:00 [3] 3.6 mi (9:42 / mi)
My poor lungs were still feeling a bit battered, but not quite as bad as I had feared. And my appetite is back, so the weakness/fatigue from the past 2 weeks is getting better.
strength/core 10:00 [2]
stretching and abs
