Saturday Jul 21

running (road/trail) 1:05:00 [3]
Early evening run with Dori. Downtown Brisbane to the botanical gardens, over the river to Kangaroo point, down the riverwalk for about 20 minutes, and back. Did a few faster ~2min sprints (logged seperately) since I was feeling good.
Overall, good day-got my latest issue of ONA in the mail, finally got AP to work on the boat! (not an easy feat, considering our less than stellar internet connection), and did some last-minute sight-seeing/shopping in Brisbane.
running (road) 10:00 [5]
5x2min sprints through the botanical gardens at dusk. Beautiful day, and I'm finally starting to feel better from the cold I've had since Sydney.

Friday Jul 20

biking 4:00:00 [3]
Paid AU$20 for a rental bike. Of the 21 gears available, 4 worked. So our planned trip up to the top of the mountain and to the winery didn't happen, but we rode all around the city, got lost about a hundred times, and in general had one of the most fun days ever. Every port call should be like this. Brisbane is beautiful, the weather is perfect, 20-25C, and everyone is complaining about how cold it is.
biking 3:00:00 [2]
Rest of the bike trip with Road Kill and Toad after lunch. Slower pace, with a lot of stops (2 pilots and an NFO with a crappy tourist map=bad news) at some point it probably should have occured to us that we were riding up river, which was most certainly not the way we wanted to go. oops. ended up a few miles off the map, but eventually ended up headed the right direction and made it back to the city before dark. Mission accomplished.

Note
I'm getting sick. boo.

Sunday Jul 8

running (road/grass) 45:00 [4] 5.6 mi (8:02 / mi)
It's days like this that make me love my job. Twilight run along Sydney harbor from Circular Quay to Woolloomooloo warf, through the botanical gardens, back past the opera house to the harbor bridge and back. Incredible. Light rain, ~10 deg C, nothing but the sound of the rain and my own breathing. Felt so good to be off the ship that I went a bit farther and faster than planned, and still felt disappointed to call it a day when it got too dark to see. Spectacular views of the city, plan tomorrow is a sunrise run (same route), and this time I'll bring my camera.
