orienteering 22:15 [4] 2.0 km (11:08 / km)

This was better than yesterday, but I still could have done better. Completely lost my concentration on #8, when the control was technically inside the out of bounds area, behind the uncrossable wall. I then proceeded to take off in the wrong direction to #9, only catching my mistake when I ended up at a dead end. oof. Probably close to a minute lost there. Other than that, just a bobble on the way to 14, when I momentarily forgot which number I was going to.

orienteering 1:28:17 [3] 3.2 km (27:35 / km) +170m 21:48 / km

Not my best. Overshot #1 and had to re-attack from the trail, then 2-3-4 were all pretty sloppy. Saw Gina heading to #7 while I was going to #5, so I told myself to pull it together and focus, and I caught back up to her somewhere between 7 and 8, then we were pretty much together until the end. It was good to get out on such a physical, technical course, even if it was slow.

stretching 10:00 [1]

running 33:00 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (13:00 @4)

Just. so. hot. Felt good to go for a bit of a run this evening, though. Legs felt good right up until the last 5 minutes or so, when my calves started getting really tight.

Note

Woohoo! I'm officially on the Military Champs team! And the Navy offered me a job in HR (not exactly what I wanted, and I'm still not sure if I'll take the job, but it's nice to have options). And I'm going to Whistler this weekend! And I finished 2 more classes for my master's this week! Things are looking up!

running 27:00 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (10:00 @2) + (12:00 @4)

Why does the central valley have to be so hot? Jogged (slowly) around the track for about 10 minutes to stretch out my legs, then 6x2min reasonably tough intervals with 1 minute rest in between. It's just so miserably hot here this time of year. But at least the pool's open again! Tomorrow-swimming!

strength/core 20:00 [4]

Took advantage of a surprisingly empty gym (yay for actually being able to get into the weight room!) and did some strength training.

stretching 10:00 [1]

And some piriformis/glute stretches. It already feels like there's a difference in my hip flexibility.
