After a typically terrible night's sleep (garmin assured me i was tired and basically got no rest) and a log day of meetings, I was feeling pretty drained, and the high temps weren't helpful, but I knew I'd regret not going out for at least a short hike. Decided an easy 30 minutes was more than manageable, and headed out. Parking lot was sparse, even for mid-week (I assume) and indeed I only saw 2 other people out on the trail.

In Utah for work, so of course I needed to make time for a trail jog/ hike. Lots of wildflowers and birds. Two large snakes, which honestly startled the crap out of me, and reminded me that I haven't got the foggiest idea which, if any, Utah snakes might be venomous or bitey, and several signs of what I assume are mountain lions. But also a beautiful trail run and I hope I get out of work in time to go again tomorrow.
