Orienteering Meet race 1:18:54 [5] *** 6.5 km (12:08 / km) +150m 10:53 / km
ahr:158 max:180 spiked:12/13c

Canadian long O champs. Jackpine Mosquito central. Some knarlly legs that I had to use the open areas to get to ( simplify the leg). It seemed to work as I placed first in my age group. I finished with an extra long leg in the dry wooded marsh again.
Overall a great time in Canada with hikes, orienteering, wildlife and camping.

Orienteering Meet race 33:28 [5] *** 3.0 km (11:09 / km) +85m 9:46 / km
ahr:160 max:178 spiked:12/13c

Nice run except going to .#2. One long leg near the end that went through a dry but wooded marsh. The Mosquitos
were ok as long as you kept moving.
I placed 2nd in age group out of 18, 20 seconds out of first:

Orienteering Related 1:00:00 [2] 2.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Model event, one sprint one regular. The regular had the worst mosquitoes you have seen. As soon as I crossed a fence I had to turn around and bail. The sprint area was much better. Why is the worse area always used for a model event, no amount of bug dope could of helped the bugs there.

Orienteering Meet race 27:06 [5] 2.3 km (11:47 / km) +704m 4:39 / km
ahr:161 max:171

Not a very good run, as I drifted on 5 and had a minute or to figure out what my problem. Trying to run we to make up time I passed my control by 150 meters and my control 2 away. Ouch.... I ended up 9th out of 19 in my age group.

Pembrina state park. We did a nice easy trail run, felt good.

Hiking 2:30:00 [3] 6.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

After yesterday rain out we hiked up in Jasper National park one of the most secnic hikes ever. Over looking the Colombia Glaicer from the opposite side of the valley. We saw 15 bighorn sheep in one group and just sat there and watched them graze 50 feet away.

Orienteering Meet race 1:24:48 [5] *** 6.8 km (12:28 / km) +205m 10:50 / km
spiked:12/15c shoes: Ice Bug 1

WCOC Long event....not so great run as I was short on #2 , not bad till 9 and 10 which I must of been in the one hour range and was getting brain fried...only excuse. I felt pretty strong and had a good time on this map regardless. On to the Ice fields between Banff and Jasper for some hiking and camping.

Orienteering Meet race 32:45 [5] *** 2.9 mi (11:18 / mi) +80m 10:24 / mi
spiked:12/13c shoes: Ice Bug 1

middle distance event, and this was an awesome area just to the southwest of Calagary. I was very cautious the whole run trying not to trip and fall.
Turned out pretty good as I was 2nd out of 18 in my age group. Nice comeback after 2 months of no orienteering

Orienteering Meet race 16:35 [5] *** 2.3 km (7:13 / km)
spiked:15/15c

Sprint event and this was fast and fun. Lots of trails to use so this fell into my strength. 1st in age group. Surprise!
