| Floor Hockey 1:02:00 [4] | ||
| Ok I kept track of time for 2 classes played ,and hit 6200 of course one class was my last year intense class with 2 other staff playing, both on the other team. It was fun and a great workout. | ||
| XC-Skiing 2:03:00 [4] 30 km (4:06 / km) | ||
| Oh Yes, I wanted ot get in one long one before Sunday 15K race at Green bush. Thats if the weather doesen't take a dive up. I met Steve and we did 3 loops of 6 k together, ok I was chasing him the last 2 and he was hammering hard cause I was to and still 50-75 meters back most of the time. He left and than I could relax the last two 6 k loops. Conditions were great and I only wish that I would feel like a big drive to the Bear Chase was in the cards, there and back the would be worth it by myself in 2 days. Lots of track meets to coach Fri night and Sat. early. | ||
Wednesday Feb 27 | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:15:00 [3] 18 km (4:10 / km) | ||
| Sweet, Steve groomed Parkside as expected and just finished as i got there. I was beat from a rough physical day. Parkside was perfect!!!!!
and for this time of year the best seen for a long long time.
| Running hills 45:00 [4] 4.0 mi (11:14 / mi) | ||
| With track team, about 12-13 HS girls. We jogged to the hill, about 3/4 of a mile and did 6 X 1:30 repeats up at their own level. I have one girl who took 18th in the state in X-C running. She is way ahead of the rest. I was pretty sore from floor hockey the last 3 days . | ||
| PE Activities 30:00 [3] | ||
| Just guessing at how much i run around during the games. I forgot that I can use the pedometer to guage time running around. i will log that tomorow. OH it was floor hockey, the only PE Activity that I log. | ||
Tuesday Feb 26 | ||
| PE Activities 30:00 [3] | ||
| I am just guessing the time, probably much more. I had 8900 steps for the morning 4 classes. Floor Hockey games of course. | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:00:00 [3] 12 km (5:00 / km) | ||
| Parkside had recieved 4-5 inches of new snow monday night. It was not groomed, but Steve will get it tomorow and it should be excellent. | ||
Monday Feb 25 | ||
| PE Activities 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Yea, floor hockey starts and I played in the first 4 classes about 15 minutes each class. | ||
| Running intervals 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi) | ||
| Track team workout in the snow. We ran about 5 X 600 meters in about 2-2:15 each. It was nice to be outside running again. | ||
Saturday Feb 23 | ||
| XC-Skiing race 2:55:00 [5] 50 km (3:30 / km) | ||
| THE BIRKIE!!
It was cold at the start 3 degrees, but it was supposed to warmup and it did. I overdressed and had to take off my bakalava at the top of seeley tower ( highest evelation on the course and 18 K into the race.) The conditions were perfect, lots of cordury when i skied. I really was not in the best shape or perfect health, but I did manage to break the 3 hour mark. There were a number of people I should of beat, but early in the race I decided to try to enjoy the course, and than pick up the pace later. I did fall in the flats in the first k and somehow broke the top cork off my pole handle. Just a minor incovenience and after bought new parts. I stuck to my plans and headed home to a late dinner of chicken and mash potatoes and sleep in my own bed. That was nice. Finally a great Birkie with great conditions. Hopefully more years like this to come.
Friday Feb 22 | ||
| XC-Skiing 32:00 [3] 7.2 km (4:27 / km) | ||
| Pre Birkie warmup at L-Peak to check skis out. It was so nice out and the conditions were great. | ||
Wednesday Feb 20 | ||
| Wind Trainer 20:00 [3] | ||
| Track practice and I was on a spinner while the team spent 20 min on the treadmills. | ||
| Running 20:00 [3] | ||
| Still at track practice and 20 min on treadmill while I let some chose either the next 20 on a treadmill or bike spinner | ||
| XC-Skiing 42:00 [3] 7 km (6:00 / km) | ||
| Got out to Parkside befroe it was total dark and with a full moon coming out, I hit the trail and spent a lot of time crust skiing. The trail is still in poor shape and if it warms up some and gets a little snow and grooming it could be good. | ||
| C • Eclipse 2 | ||
Tuesday Feb 19 | ||
| XC-Skiing 40:00 [3] 6 km (6:40 / km) | ||
| Cold, Icey Cold. Parkside had some interesting skiing, but with my metal edge skis I had decent edge. there were some major ice ponds to cross and lots of area to avoid at night, but a mini workout. | ||
Saturday Feb 16 | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:50:00 [3] 28 km (3:56 / km) | ||
| Perfect Parkside. Ok I blew off the snowgaine due to physical stuff. So I had a nice sunny ski at parkside. | ||
| C • Log hits 3 | ||
Thursday Feb 14 | ||
| XC-Skiing 55:00 [3] 12 km (4:35 / km) | ||
| Warm-up a little at parkside. I had to change skis for 2nd lap as the one ski were for cold and were slow. | ||
Wednesday Feb 13 | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:42:00 [4] 24 km (4:15 / km) | ||
| What awesome conditions at Parkside. I skied 2 6K loops at regular pace and than Steve showed up and we put the hammer down for the next 2 6Kloops. It was kinda cold about 10 degrees but really nice conditions for this time or any time of the ski season. 791K to date this season. | ||
Tuesday Feb 12 | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:25:00 [3] 17 km (5:00 / km) | ||
| Snowy day here at Parkside,man do we have the snow, less than 2 weeks from the Birkie. Now I need t go back and groom the trail. | ||
| XC-Skiing 31:00 [3] 6 km (5:10 / km) | ||
| I can't believe that I groomed 2 hours ago and now there is another 2-4 inches on the trail. So I did just 1 loop and called it. | ||
Sunday Feb 10 | ||
| Orienteering Meet race 1:15:00 [5] *** 7 km (10:43 / km) | ||
| spiked:13/13c | ||
| Race #2 of the Madnaess Series. this a handicapped system that is still not quite fair. It was negitive 2-4 degrees with 20-30 mile an hour winds. It was really bad only on this bridge crossing and the wind hurt. Some folks actually had white skin on their cheek, it warmed up and did not seem to be a big problem after a few IPA's at the Ram brew pub. Jeff Shaw joined us for a few and a great lunch. We also had a tour of the brewery with the Brewmister. Oh I was the first one in he he . In a regular I would of been beat bad as I pulled something in my calf muscle and my legs were somewhat dead. Only 14 tough, crazy orienteers showed up, but it was pretty competitive. The orienteering was not hard by any means and it was also a mass start. | ||
| C • That was Bubba 2 | ||
Saturday Feb 9 | ||
| XC-Skiing 3:10:00 [4] 45 km (4:13 / km) | ||
| What a day at Nordic, after 2 hours last night at the hilly L-Peak it was almost a nice break to ski without the killer climbs of last night. The temps were in the high 20's and there were more people than i have seen there in a long time. So 5 + hours in less trhan 24 hours time. | ||
Friday Feb 8 | ||
| XC-Skiing 2:02:00 [3] 24 km (5:05 / km) | ||
| What a great night to dodge trimming at Parkside to ski at L-Peak. It started snowing about a 1/2 inch and was awesome. 7 loops and 24 k in 2 hours. Dicely drive home and when I got home it was rain. Off to Nordic tomorow for hopefully 3 hours of fun and hard workout. | ||
Tuesday Feb 5 | ||
| Wind Trainer 40:00 [3] | ||
| Another day indoor with my I-Pod trying to get the soreness out of my legs from the Quadathon. | ||
Sunday Feb 3 | ||
| XC-Skiing 1:42:00 [3] 20 km (5:06 / km) | ||
| The Quadatheron at Badger
state Games. A tough run on a snow mobile trail ( poor footing) and Mt bike on a snowey road, a long snowshoe and 5.4 K ski. I did place 2nd in my age group and am really sore today.
| C • Only 4 hours?? 2 | ||
Saturday Feb 2 | ||
| XC-Skiing race 2:27:00 [5] 43 km (3:25 / km) | ||
| Badger State Games in Wausau WI. Perfect conditions at Nine Mile, and once again a slow start and a strong finish put me in 5th place in my age group. I should of skied the 10k right after and picked up a medal. | ||
