Well an indoor workout at Carthage College at the Indoor Track. No problem getting in and I met Steve W for 8 X 400 at 1:30 avg.
Not bad for the first time in a long time. This will become a weekly workout now till the snow flys and we begin grooming Parkside again. As usual we say that even during ski season we should still run at least once a week, but on a Tuesday night when the skiing is great how can you go to a gym and run inside ???

Cold run after work on the Alendale Trails. They are pretty nice just 2 1/2 mile loops. Cold but feeling good.

Orienteering Meet race 3:04:00 [4] **** 16 km (11:30 / km)

3 hour Turkey Score O, Hawn State Park. Yes the Hawn St Park.
It was perfect weather, about 45 degrees, slightly cold on the bare hands.
It seemed that Kevin had the same course laid out, except I followed the crowd to the wrong first control and i could never catch Kevin after 4 controls. This was all because me not being ready at the start, I had no insoles for my O shoes, oops and my water was not coming out of my camel back. The race started and I was still at the car fixing stuff. I did not give near enough thought to the route, though it was ok plan, just head to the west to the best part of the map and near the end, work the controls in the green area. I never got to the green area and with my few bobbles came in 3.5 minutes late or 4 control penalty. I don't know the results but it was a great day and I saw just about no one on the course while i ran.

Down road 2 miles in wind ,rain and cold. Just the challenge I need.
The tempo 2 back with the north wind pushing me was nice, kinda felt like a guiding hand, too bad I was not running to fast. porbably skip the Kenosha Turkey Day Run cause I saw that the Bodeans were playing at the Brat Stop as I happen to drive by this morning. Now that is close, I bought the ticket after school and of course the main band always starts late.

Running race 20:51 [5] 5 km (4:10 / km) vdot: 47.4
Turkey 5K at Lincolnwood today. I felt pretty good and not to tired from yesterday, but whats up with my speed??? I need more track workouts.
This race had a good goody bag and lots food and stuff after. Oh I only got 4th place so no turkey trophy to give out. Its ok I might not be working next year. :)

Windy, cold, wet, and I had to get to an orienteering birthday party on time to set controls on a arial photo map at prairie crossings.
I rode from my house to Senator Michael Bonds house ( use to be a club member) to help hang controls, run the course with the first place team and pick up controls with a dinasor headlamp at night.

Wussed out for an outdoor run so I spent time on wind trainer and did 6 X 1:30 spins.

Wednesday Nov 14

Dropped vehicle off and rode to work. Will have to ride home and will add this time to the morning ride later.

The ride back was gruling, it was windy as heck and riding the gravel along route 83 sucks. Thats because there are constant cars wizzing by and the gravel is just kind of no fun.

Allendale's 27th Annual turkey trot. This year I added the Charlie Challange 3 mile run. Ity was 6 loops on trail up hill into the wind 6 times.
I gave out lots of medals and turkey trophies I had stored at home waiting for this time.

Ride at Grant woods, nice to ride with some decent weather and a great sunset.

Running race 44:15 [5] 6.2 mi (7:08 / mi) vdot: 46.0
Weschester 10k. Well it seems that i have trained short and it showed. I have been training for 2-3 mile distances. So the first 3 mile were okafter that i just hung on to finish running 7:15 minute miles.
I was pretty sore form all 10 hours home remodle work and seems like I have a mild cold. My conditioning has been hurt by the injury, but it keeps getting better.

Last local meet of the Chicago O club season. It was a thick in some areas and kinda a runners course. I finished 3rd today and 2nd overall in the Red Course club championships for 2007. It never rained and was my first double of the year. My foot felt great but sore tonight a bit.

Back to Bristol Woods for a Friday tempo test run and it was great. I ran 21:47 for the same course I ran 24:00 on Wed. I am getting back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday Nov 8

Running tempo 31:00 [4] 4.0 mi (7:45 / mi)
2 mile tempo run on front road. Finally I really got some tempo at 13:45 for two miles. The rib thing is much better, but still can feel it, 2 weeks later.

Wednesday Nov 7

Bristol woods for a 18 min warmup and a 24 minute tempo run. Felt good and really first hard run since getting hurt at work 2 weeks ago

Went to Bristol Woods to go hard and did not have it at all.

Orienteering Meet 1:04:17 [3] ***** 5.9 km (10:54 / km) +290m 8:45 / km
2nd Day US Champs. Much better day and just missed an easy saddle control and poor route choice to #5, I took the road instead of going straight at it.

Orienteering Meet race 58:27 [5] ***** 5 km (11:41 / km) +220m 9:35 / km

US Champs Day 1. Mistake to No 2, I hit the stream and crossed it until I got back on track and the othere mistake was route to no. 5 which I messed up my compass bearing and hit every big ditch on way to controAt the end there was another easy control No. 10 and I missed the power line to correctly hit the control. 11th place after day 1.

US sprint Champs. Well I did not see the trail off from No. 4 to 5 on a short short leg. I lost a minute there and a US champ Gold Medal.
