Sunday Jan 27

XC-Skiing 1:30:00 [3] 20 km (4:30 / km)
Rapid River Ski Trail. On way home Sunday from Nokie stopped and skied on a really nice trail system. Snow was good and the woods were like being in the wilderness.

Saturday Jan 26

XC-Skiing race 3:00:13 [5] 51 km (3:32 / km)
Nokie Ski Race in Marquette, MI. The newspaper said a perfect day and it was ,weather wise. The skiing was great, I had lots of energy and I was smiling 95% of the race. It was a great weekend socializing at the awards party and I even won a big, big jug of power replacment recovery drink.

Thursday Jan 24

C • What is a wind trainer? 2
Running 39:00 [3]

Weight Training 10:00 [3]
Non-stop 10 minutes, mostly ski training exercises.

Wednesday Jan 23

XC-Skiing 1:35:00 [3] 19 km (5:00 / km)
I did not go to race at L-Peak tonight, a number of reasons, so I went to Parkside and skiied ZZZ Strip. It a famous stretch along the woods line that holds snow forever! Steve attempted to groom yesterday and it did not work out, snow to light and thin to pack down. I only base my distance on time at 5 min. per K. Guess I will go tomorow and do it again. Its a shame that every where else got bombed with snow except up.

Monday Jan 21

XC-Skiing 3:17:00 [5] 45 km (4:23 / km)
Another day at Nordic, it was supposed to be a 50K day but the snow kept on coming and slowed down the last lap still getting 3:17 time in on snow. The last of 3 loops was tough being the 3rd day in a row skiing.
I AM TIRED!! ^65,63 and 68 minutes each.
C • You're moving up the list - now 88th! 2

Sunday Jan 20

XC-Skiing 2:31:00 [4] 35 km (4:19 / km)
Nordic trail on a cold cold day. I was warm after my fingers warmed up in 20 minutes. We did 2 15 K loops and a 5k loop. Conditions were a little thin in a few areas, but over all excellent.

Saturday Jan 19

XC-Skiing race 40:30 [5] 10 km (4:03 / km)
Nice warm day for Lappham Loppet.....NOT.
It was about 2 degrees and 20 MPH winds.. My legs went super tired after the first big big climb. No more streak, I need a rest day before a race like this.. Greenbush race postponed till march cause of cold. WIMPS.
XC-Skiing 35:00 [3] 8 km (4:22 / km)
Warmup and cool down for race.

Friday Jan 18

Wind Trainer 21:00 [3]
Just a little burn before cold race tomorow. New year streak now at 18.

Thursday Jan 17

Running 42:00 [3]
Day 17 and the workout streak continues. Had to run inside on a treadmill, and actually it was 21 min on treadmill and 21 min on spinner bike at the HS Cardio room.

Wednesday Jan 16

XC-Skiing race 13:00 [5] 3.6 km (3:37 / km)
Wed. night Lapham Peak ski series. I took 3rd in age group and 12th overall. I should of passed the guy in my age group who took 2nd, but I was hoping to pass him in the straight away at the end. He ended up being stronger on the hills (local) than me. I will get him next Wed.
XC-Skiing 1:45:00 [4] 20 km (5:15 / km)
Back to skiing and it was awesome, great conditions considering there is no snow back home. Total was 6 1/2 loops at L-Peak and my quads are so tired today. Race there Sat. and Sunday at Green bush.

Saturday Jan 12

Road Riding 1:41:00 [3] 23.6 mi (4:17 / mi)
Took out my new 7.7 FX on a road trip to Parkside to see the road conxtruction. Maiden Voyage for the 7.7 and it was great. The temps were 36 degress outside and it was cold going into the wind but a breeze coming back.

Friday Jan 11

Running 36:00 [3] 4.4 mi (8:10 / mi)
Trail run w/Dave B at Grant Forest preserve. Its been a long time since we actuallly ran together, so it was cool. Trail was actually nice and soft.

Thursday Jan 10

Running 36:00 [3] 4.2 mi (8:34 / mi)
I had to get outside to run and it was raining slightly, as I ran it turned to blowing snow and I was gettting wet by the minute. It felt good to breath fresh outdoor air.

City ride in chicago to view the Maps at Field musem. W/ Clark and Sari and to at Apple store on Michigan Ave and stop at GOOSE ISLAND for a couple of beers. Not really a workout but omething to do in the new temp record in Chicago of 58 degrees?? Always ride with more confidence/ less fear after a couple of goosies.

Saturday Jan 5

XC-Skiing 30:00 [3] 6 km (5:00 / km)
The warmup begins, I was late getting out and the temp climbed from 36 to 38 and it was slow and not much fun. Parside was till snow covered for the most part.
Wind Trainer 30:00 [3]
Had to finish the day's workout with 1/2 hour on wind trainer.

Friday Jan 4

XC-Skiing 3:00:00 [4] 45 km (4:00 / km)
Before the big warmup/meltdown coming, a big day at Nordic Ski Trail in the Southern Kettle Moraine. 3 loops of the 15K course, times 59:30, 58:30 and 61:00. Hope to get out tomorow before the sky turns ugly and ruins the wonderful ski season.

Thursday Jan 3

XC-Skiing 1:20:00 [3] 15 km (5:20 / km)
Another cold sunny day at Parkside. Steve even groomed the trail earlier.

Wednesday Jan 2

2 workouts at Parkside, both cold but enjoyable. i had more energy for the afternoon session. Both were three loops of the 6 K, I shortened the last one by a bit to avoid the dirty trail.
C • Nordic Trails 2

Tuesday Jan 1

XC-Skiing 2:05:00 [4] 30 km (4:10 / km)
Another awesome day at Nordic ski trail at the Southern kettle Moraine. My hand got a little cold, but than this guy came up behind me and than wouldn't pass it was time to hammer. So my avg for the 15 K loop were about 63-64 min yesterday and the same today for the first one and about an even 60 for the second one.
