| The Punisher returns. Yes a long course early and it was starting to rain and I could not uses safety/reading glasses. To top that I forgot my clue sheet. No.1 was a couple minute mistake right away. The rest of the course went well except I was on the wrong trail on the way to No.9 and I had to relocate there. A lot of the course was fast nav with some route choices. Good conditioning for the weekend coming up. Oh I ended up 2nd next to Maricel. | ||

| Greenbush, well I did have to take my ski's off about 5 times and change route, but it was still great skiing. This was to be a warmup before the O meet there. It was sunny and nice. | ||

| Well I just finished skiing and Kevin puts up and asks if I would go set the easy course on my skis. So off i go with out poles and a map and 4 controls to hang. some off trail. I had to go up and howl hill without poles.
Just thimk that next year should have a Ski O there. | ||

| Cats aganda, what a map, very technical teraine, great course, however lots of snow on the ground and I do not like running in snow, much rather be skiing. Someday the US Champs will be held here, just ask Kevin. I finished 3rd overall. I tried to stay in contact the whole time and work on my map reading skills. I only did not one control and veered off to the south and headed north to hit No.7. What a transition from skiing, to control hanging on skis ( no poles) and than orienteering. | ||

| This had to be one of the best skis ever for conditions. Sunny and a fresh groomer making great conditions. The snow was fast and one of my old tenants was out. | ||

| Al Quale rec area for hard pack and CLASSICAL skiing, with Knape and Twohey. Good time and some hariy down hills, nappe broke a 30 year odl ski pole today, he will fix it I am sure. | ||

| Wow what a nice day at the Nokie trail head. Fresh rolled trails for skating. I did a different number of loops and hit the advanced trail and was in for a few suprises, as there was one kich ass hill that i went up on the wrong way on the trail, but it was fairly hard pack and will have to ski down this some day in a softer condition. Ah spring skiing does not get much better tha this!!!! | ||

| Track hill workout. It was 5x 1:30 on the hill. It was supposed to be 6 but the girls talked me into 5, with some extra jogging down to the track to watch the boys bananna relay, yes a bananna relay. We missed it anyway. It is starting to get somewhat nice out weather wise. So looking forward to biking and the real orienteering season!!!!!!! | ||

| Track workout, start with 400, than 800 and repeat 2 more times. Walk 100 after the 400 and 200 after the 800. I told the girls that I was shooting for 90 seconds on the 400 and 3:20 on the 800. My top grils exceded these times and the slower ones did not. However that is the way it goes with different levels, and you have to push the ones who can go faster and hope the slower ones catch up some day. I am happy when the fast ones don't dog it and stay with the slow times I put for the group. This workout was 2 days after an invite meet at Platville WI and I thought it might be a little too much but with spring break coming up and special workout sTues and Thur for the jumpers, thats the way I wanted to schedule things.
They can go easy tues and thur. | ||

| Warm-up nad cool down at U Of W Plattville befroe and after my 2-miler's race. She won in 12:37 as well as my Long and Triple Jumper wins and a 2nd in my 800 runners race. It felt good except theses were WI xchools and are not as tough as IL schools. | ||

| A good game of floor hockey and 3787 steps for 35 min. The way to judge if I am working hard or not is the steps per min. I was over the 100 per minute range so that means I worked hard.

| Madneass Race #3 Lincoln Park Zoo, and Lenny the leader after 2 events didn't showed up. That left it for just about an easy win. It was follow the leader after the lions screamed us out of their home ( zoo). Than I got to skip 2 controls and so did KB. She took it out and must of known the area and easyly beat me head on. Than Jeff S and Maricel came in. Lots of fun folks there and after we headed to Goose Island of course!!!
With a handicapped system our best Orienteers (young) will not win this type of event untill the O gets more technical. A fun series overall. | ||

| Track Team workout, 3X mile repeats. The track is still full of snow and ice. We ran to the water tower and back for thw work out. My splits were 7:17, 7:30 and 7:30. Not too god but I pushed for a while and it will get better. | ||

| Greenbush 15 K. It was about 37-39 degrees and about 20% slower than other years. It hit 50 degrees on the way home. Maricel did his first race and ski of the year. Steve Wik won the age group with 51:34. We also hit my sauna for the first time of the year. | ||
