XC-Skiing race 2:55:00 [5] 50 km (3:30 / km)
THE BIRKIE!!

It was cold at the start 3 degrees, but it was supposed to warmup and it did. I overdressed and had to take off my bakalava at the top of seeley tower ( highest evelation on the course and 18 K into the race.) The conditions were perfect, lots of cordury when i skied. I really was not in the best shape or perfect health, but I did manage to break the 3 hour mark. There were a number of people I should of beat, but early in the race I decided to try to enjoy the course, and than pick up the pace later. I did fall in the flats in the first k and somehow broke the top cork off my pole handle. Just a minor incovenience and after bought new parts. I stuck to my plans and headed home to a late dinner of chicken and mash potatoes and sleep in my own bed. That was nice. Finally a great Birkie with great conditions. Hopefully more years like this to come.

Friday Feb 22

XC-Skiing 32:00 [3] 7.2 km (4:27 / km)
Pre Birkie warmup at L-Peak to check skis out. It was so nice out and the conditions were great.

Wednesday Feb 20

Wind Trainer 20:00 [3]
Track practice and I was on a spinner while the team spent 20 min on the treadmills.
Running 20:00 [3]
Still at track practice and 20 min on treadmill while I let some chose either the next 20 on a treadmill or bike spinner
XC-Skiing 42:00 [3] 7 km (6:00 / km)
Got out to Parkside befroe it was total dark and with a full moon coming out, I hit the trail and spent a lot of time crust skiing. The trail is still in poor shape and if it warms up some and gets a little snow and grooming it could be good.

XC-Skiing 40:00 [3] 6 km (6:40 / km)
Cold, Icey Cold. Parkside had some interesting skiing, but with my metal edge skis I had decent edge. there were some major ice ponds to cross and lots of area to avoid at night, but a mini workout.
