Rentschler Forest, Flying PIG middle event. 1st A meet of year in my new age group 55+. 2nd place, Fun event only screwed up a simple control that cost 4 minutes #12 that was across an open field and I went to far to the left. I was going on the right bearing and would of nailed it.

It felt good to bike, although indoors. 6x 1:30 min intervals. Gotta be in shape for this weekend.

Sunday Mar 30

Orienteering Meet race 1:29:04 [5]*** 9 km (9:54 / km)
spiked:21/23c
The Punisher returns. Yes a long course early and it was starting to rain and I could not uses safety/reading glasses. To top that I forgot my clue sheet. No.1 was a couple minute mistake right away. The rest of the course went well except I was on the wrong trail on the way to No.9 and I had to relocate there. A lot of the course was fast nav with some route choices. Good conditioning for the weekend coming up. Oh I ended up 2nd next to Maricel.

Saturday Mar 29

XC-Skiing 1:03:00 [3]14 km (4:30 / km)
Greenbush, well I did have to take my ski's off about 5 times and change route, but it was still great skiing. This was to be a warmup before the O meet there. It was sunny and nice.
XC-Skiing 30:00 [3]3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Well I just finished skiing and Kevin puts up and asks if I would go set the easy course on my skis. So off i go with out poles and a map and 4 controls to hang. some off trail. I had to go up and howl hill without poles.
Just thimk that next year should have a Ski O there.
Orienteering Meet race 53:41 [4]**** 4.4 km (12:12 / km)
spiked:9/10c
Cats aganda, what a map, very technical teraine, great course, however lots of snow on the ground and I do not like running in snow, much rather be skiing. Someday the US Champs will be held here, just ask Kevin. I finished 3rd overall. I tried to stay in contact the whole time and work on my map reading skills. I only did not one control and veered off to the south and headed north to hit No.7. What a transition from skiing, to control hanging on skis ( no poles) and than orienteering.
