Orienteering Related (Control Hanging) 1:30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (29:59 / mi)
I only had 3 controls to put up, but I had to drive to 2 different places, cross a creek 3 times, the last being up to my waist, that wasn't that high 4 hours early. They were tough controls that I had to make sure they were in the exact place.
The Big Blue O fest was wet, but the folks who ran enjoyed the wet (understatment) courses had fun.
I am glad its done and now the cleanup work ( drying out ) and meet stuff done.
There were a great number of helpers who helped pull this off, thanks go out to them.

Orienteering Related (Control Hanging) 2:00:00 [3]
Deer Grove at the Big Wet Rain Fest. It was wet is an understatement.
It broke records for rain in Chicago since they have been keeping records.
The creek going through the middle of the map was flood swollen.
I tried to warn people not to attempt to cross if it looked bad. Only one person went in totally under, but kept the map dry.
I had to go through the creek where it went over the road a couple of times and the water would get higher and higher. No kids would be allowed to do this meet alone. Some scouts had a blast on the white course, than they attempted the yellow course and had to cross the creek, I think they were smart and just went around.
Overall people seemed to like the courses and even enjoy running in the rain. Ok the bad news was the SI punch was not working properly and Carl L had to spend 2.5 hours trying to get it up and running. Long day and I had to get home to wash and dry clothes and get some solid sleep.

Friday Sep 12

Cross Biking Rd/Trail 55:00 [3] 14.0 mi (3:54 / mi)
Busse Woods North and South. Joe and Jeff all on Mt Bikes, bike the paved trail and stop for lunch. It started raining and never quit for 3 days and nights.
Orienteering Related 2:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (24:00 / mi)
Hang the 2 sprint courses for the Big Blue Rain Fest. Also pick up sprint 1 just in time before the darkness set in. Off to the Ram Brewery for food and drink with an awesome group of orienteer's.

Thursday Sep 11

Cross Biking Rd/Trail 1:11:00 [3] 14.3 mi (4:57 / mi)
Went to pick up vehicle and it was into a stiff wind the whole way and the legs still lack energy.

Wednesday Sep 10

Running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
Pretty lackluster run, I thought I was hyper, than had to chase a chipmunk out of the house w/ the cat who must of brought it in. 20 minutes later, my energy went down and a slow run.
Cross Biking Rd/Trail 2:10:00 [3] 32.0 mi (4:03 / mi)
Des Plaines trail from 173 to Ind.Grove. We hammered the usual last 3 miles and both hit 8:36. I of course was on my hybrid this time since my legs were fairly trashed from yesterday.

Tuesday Sep 9

Road Riding 4:45:00 [3] 71.5 mi (3:59 / mi)
Great long ride with Don J. who took off work early to make this happen.
Nice roads make this a Wisconsin Classic from my house. It was supposed to be a 100 miler, but cut it short due to daylight issues.
