Orienteering Meet race 16:39 [5] *** 1.9 km (8:46 / km)
spiked:17/17c shoes: Solomon black

Sprint race at Northstar near Truckee, Ca
Part woods part concrete race.
Not too bad of a run, as I had just received a cold before I left town. Some minor mistakes and hesitations. GT got me by 2 seconds and was 2 seconds on the run in. 3rd in m-60 and 10th the green course.
Great warmup for the weekend. Lots of O friends around too.

trail bike ride 2:15:00 [3] 24.5 mi (5:31 / mi)

Ride north to Racine on poorly marked trail/streets with tony & elfi.
Oops forgot my shoes so rode with my sandals on ech!

Also ran over a ground hog with my rear tire, glad not my front.
His leg was pretty hurt, but I hope with some rest be ok.

Orienteering Meet race 1:36:38 [4] **** 6.7 km (14:25 / km)
ahr:139 max:178 spiked:12/16c shoes: Icebug #4's

Poplar Creek. Jungle!!!
Grass was 6 feet in some sections, rough ground and controls hard to see.
Tough day making my way around the course. Reminder to self, never schedule P Creek in the fall!
Orienteering pretty slow, with one big mistake that I just must not of used my compass at all, thinking I could read the terrain. Ha ha.

Orienteering Related 1:12:00 [2] 6.0 km (12:00 / km)
shoes: Icebug #4's

Control pickup. Furtherest out and probably the longest grouping. at one point I had all the controls and water jug and I could not move, stuck in the weeds.

trail bike ride 7:05:00 [3] 83.0 mi (5:07 / mi)

Epic ride to Chicago from my driveway. New record time of 6 hours to the lake front at Diversey. With my buddy Tom from Michigan. Used my 29 ER for this ride. Very comfortable bike.
Of course the weather was cool and a bit of a north wind to push us down there.
ChiTown was out of town but we still had dinner at Cafe Ba Ba Beria for tapas dinner.
On way back jumped an early train by 5 minutes, turned out to Ravina concert train and had to get off. Maps for tomorrows events were quickly handed off to be at a northern stop.
Home by 8pm.
