Orienteering Meet race 1:10:04 [5] *** 5.8 km (12:05 / km) +135m 10:49 / km
ahr:152 max:169 spiked:6/12c

Day 2 U.S. champs little Truckee, CA

Well I was not clean on 6 of the 12 controls. Started a bit late and the sun is tough out here at altitude. Still a fun event!
Could I have done better...hell yes.
Lost lots of time on a control in a dry river bend. I aimed north and worked my way down the dry bed, but not exactly in the dry bed and passed it. I went North then south. Yuck I keep missing it. So goes my day.

Orienteering Meet race 1:30:19 [5] *** 6.2 km (14:34 / km) +150m 13:00 / km
spiked:12/14c shoes: Icebug green #5

U.S. champs at Little Truckee map.
Started out the run going up up and up. Nice to get lots of climb out of the way.
Number 4 was killer, for me and a few others. Had to relocate 2 times for that control. On number 8 i took the low road and then had to climb to the control.
Overall not a great day.

Orienteering Meet race 16:39 [5] *** 1.9 km (8:46 / km)
spiked:17/17c shoes: Solomon black

Sprint race at Northstar near Truckee, Ca
Part woods part concrete race.
Not too bad of a run, as I had just received a cold before I left town. Some minor mistakes and hesitations. GT got me by 2 seconds and was 2 seconds on the run in. 3rd in m-60 and 10th the green course.
Great warmup for the weekend. Lots of O friends around too.

Ride north to Racine on poorly marked trail/streets with tony & elfi.
Oops forgot my shoes so rode with my sandals on ech!

Also ran over a ground hog with my rear tire, glad not my front.
His leg was pretty hurt, but I hope with some rest be ok.
