Orienteering Meet race 1:26:25 [5] *** 5.2 km (16:37 / km) +225m 13:40 / km
spiked:12/13c shoes: Icebug #4's

Back to Harris centre for day 2

Well my start was not good as I did not have a clue going to no 2. But recovered and lost 4 min on this control. After that I was super carefull and hurt the rest of the way and I jamed either a sharp stick or rock into by toe and it was throbbing the whole way. Went through ssome of the areas that we were in yesterday, so I was super carefulll in the rocks. No 7 I took the trail way around and trail back to no 8. Chicken routes I guess, but they worked for me.

Orienteering Meet race 1:44:54 [4] *** 5.0 km (20:59 / km) +165m 18:01 / km
ahr:144 max:182 spiked:12/15c shoes: Icebug green #5

Day one Boulder Dash near Hancock NH.
Was doing fine until the 2nd from last control. The bomb was this control. 35 minutes on a 10 min leg. I drifted south and was in no mans land of marsh and boulders. I had to laugh cause I didn't have a clue where I was at and nothing to relocate on.
Finally went to the finish area and from there the control was easy.
Nice map, lots of rocks that are hard to nav from.

Hiking 6:00:00 [3] 14.0 km (25:43 / km) +1200m 18:00 / km

Epic Hike up in the adrindock area. 3:15 up and 2:45 down.
We hiked/ scrambled up Mt Alogquin from the ADK club house.
Trail started nice and then it was almost pure Boulder hopping and smooth rock all the way up to above tree line. At the top it was windy and cold. Timing was amazing as we say for lunch out of the wind with the warm sun out. As soon as we finished the clouds and wind came up and it got cold. Hustled down to tree line and Jim let me use one of his hiking sticks which was the first time I really ever used one. It worked pretty nice. Continue rocks steep and otherwise made for an exhausting hike.
