XC-Skiing 1:20:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:20 / km)

Greenbush on a cold day. Was wondering why I was slow and lack some zip. Well Afib returned and showed it's nasty self. Had to cut it short. Really sucked for driving 3 hours there and back.

Road Riding 1:00:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:00 / km)

17 degrees and 20 mile winds, this was really to cold for biking. But I did it and toes and fingers were cold by the end.
Had to do this to drop off vehicle for repair.....yes I know too many vehicles and that's the problem, they sit outside too much and the brakes get all rusted.

Wow Fantastic day skiing Greenbush. It was darn perfect conditions.
They had not groomed, probably to try save the course. But the snow was deep and both the skating and classical lanes great. Can't complain about the temps, but it was a bit windy on the ridges.
Also experimented with my V 2 poling and now totally figured it out. Hold the poles a bit higher and and just a light stroke. I am always pushing down longer and that throws off my balance a bit.
Day 1 of February training for the birkie.

Greenbush is also great to see into the woods while skiing along and wondering if I placed or had a control near that hill or reentrant. Most controls are usually in depressions.

Took my new dog Stella fro a run at Bristol woods. She is perfect running on a leash. Never pulled, I think I will take her to a K9 cross country run this February.

Back to Blueberry before heading home. My skis were so slow, kinda sucked.

Nokie ski race. Was supposed to be 31K, funny my Garmin shows less than 28k.
The race was like being in a shaken snow globe the whole time. Lots of fresh snow looked nice, but actually slowed down the skiing speed. Actually a white out for a minute and glasses were getting fogged up and snow covering up made vision difficult for a bit.
The course was excellent and fully covered with no rocks or anything exposed. But they shorten the course and made two extra loops to add distance.
Kinda of tiring since my ski conditioning sucks in Mudville that I live in.
Greenbush received 8 inches of snow last Wednesday, so 90 min drive one way for good skiing will be scheduled next week every other day.
10th in my age group this year, which is way lower than normal. Heart rate does not work good on my wrist while skiing.
But I finished no 19 of 19 Nokies. Next year no 20!
