Andy's 8 hour rogaine on southeast Wi. South Kettle Moraine.
3 maps one orienteering, one usgs and one air shot.
Maricel was my partner, he tough to follow around, but an excellent navigator. So I mostly followed and helped. But there were a couple at the end of the usg map that i would of bombed because all these unmarked trails show up and was confusing. We got threw it and at the end we took 3rd ?? In the two man category.
The race started with a trail run to a clearing to find eggs, when you ran back with them your were handed either nap one or two. We chose any opposite way if most teams I believe.
The woods here are thick and scratchy, but really with gloves was not too bad.
It was 36 degrees and windy, but the rain fortunately held off for the most part which was a savior!
Good training event, if my body recovers!!

Was going to run inside, but the sun came out and I ran the trails at Lake Andrea.
They are mostly wooded, but they had built this bridge to nowhere, well they finished it and added a big loop on cut down fields. Actually nice to run on, a bit lumpy but soft.
Just waiting for real warm weather to pick up the training.

New Map at Heritage Lake near Adrian Michigan. Just happen to catch this meet while around this weekend.
One control misplaced and one missing. So I lost 17 minutes looking for the missing control before I gave up. Should of been closer to 60 min.
Overall a fun map that was more sprint like than techinical. Good workout though.
