Note

Early morning yomp across the moor to see the skyliners near the foot of curved ridge. Knee sore enough to know i made the right decision.

Ring of Steall fail
After behaving most of the summer L knee has been v sore for last few days. Jogged around a bit beforehand hoping it would ease off but never really did. Set off anyway at a conservative pace and with zero adrenaline. Bit boggy up the first hill, not really enjoying having so much company and knee complaining, out on the col at 62, stopped briefly to put jacket on, then bimbled along the ridge, 91 at Sgurr a Mhaim then the usual wussy descent (although picking up a few places, amazingly) to CP5 at 2.03. Knee momentarily better and was feeling fresh otherwise, but it was a different story on the tarmac and I was limping by the time i got to the top carpark. Stopped, stretched, no better, so jogged/walked back down the road to Polldubh. Pissed off, but maybe better than being completely broken. Some great runs by other orienteers ahead of me :-)
