Cycling 3:02:00 [4] 50.0 km (3:38 / km)

3 hour mountain bike race at Kowen. Was great fun! Bit muddy and cold but was a great course and I really enjoyed it. Rode pretty consistently (read "slow and steady") until the last lap when I got massively tired and even had a bit of trouble focussing on the track for the last few mins, I was feeling a bit light-headed. Probably didn't eat/drink enough. Apart from that it was great! (And my knee was totally fine!)

Ran with Al today! Yay, first time in months and so good to get back to it. Knee was fine after lots of stretching since Thursday. Undulating run around Aranda Hill. Fun!

Tried a Mona's session today (2 x 90", 4 x 60", 4 x 30", 4 x 15" with equal rest) on the ovals. Wasn't awesome - felt very slow and knee was a bit sore.

Did a faster session today - 1 lap of my old Gossan Hill loop. It was a bit dark and rainy and first speed session in a while so I guess I can't complain about not being very fast! 8:16. Room for improvement :) Knee was fine, but did feel a bit tender later in the day.

Only really had time for a shortish ride so went for a road ride up Black Mtn. It was freezing! Jase had put out the challenge to beat his time to the top so of course I had to give that a go! Managed to do it ;) 13.22 to KOM and just over 14 to my usual timing. Not too bad for me!

Wowsers, longest run in weeks and weeks! Met Petrina and jogged/walked (mostly jogged) for 30 mins over to Gossan Hill then did an extra 10 min jog. Knee felt really good for most of it - started to sort of feel it towards end but not hurting. It is so fun being able to head out on some trails!

Yay! Went for a run around Aranda - on undulating trails! It was great!! I wanted to keep on running, it was so fun. Even the long downhilll was fine on the old knee (I was pretty nervous at the top when I was about to run down!).

Went for a great mountain bike ride during the day today, through Black Mtn and then over to bruce ridge. It was great fun, I felt good, and I even rode all the way up the rocky steep hill on Black mtn where I normally have to get off and walk for a bit! Loved it, such a nice ride.

Woo hoo!! Went for a run at lunch through ANU and on bike path to black mtn peninsula return. Was so fun, knee felt good (just a bit of a tight ITB but nothing troubling) and even run up and down some gentle hills! Very exciting and a lovely run.

27 mins run round the ovals. It was great! Felt good, knee was fine and I really enjoyed it. Ran at average or 4:44 min/km pace which was good, but I was stuffed at the end!

Another 25 mins round the oval. Definitely feel like the niggles have settled down now and knees ok (there's an "awareness' of the itb soreness that does get a bit stronger during the run, but it's not actually sore so that's good). One more stint round the ovals on Sunday then I'm going to hit the trails!

My left leg and knee is hurting more than the right! It hurts to walk and is absolute agony to use the roller... argh! Talked to Cathy, she thinks glute-related and sounds like a nerve prob. Have been doing lots of glute exercises lately.

Went for a mountain bike ride. Had been planning to ride for a couple of hours over to Stromlo but I made a few wrong turns going through green hills so it took me ages to get to Wright. My knee was not feeling at all good and hurting going up hills so I just turned back and went home. :(
