Went for a great run today. Met devil at Hackett and did a loop up steep hill to saddle below Ainslie, then back to car park to meet grant m, then did a loop up majura. Really nice run, great to run at majura for a change and I loved it.

Mountain bike ride around black mtn and Bruce ridge. Was happy to ride all the way up the pinch on the roller coaster track but then for some reason I lost motivation in Bruce ridge and headed for home.

Did the old classic tempo run around black mtn, with 20 mins in middle at tempo pace (aimed for around 5 min/km). Beautiful run during day and starting to feel a bit better running.

Really nice run home from work. Took centenary trail from Csiro to Bruce ridge then home. I couldn't face big hill over black mtn! Legs weary and a few sore spots and niggles but felt bit better by the end.

The triple tri was cancelled today so decided to run the Lifeline half marathon instead. It was on the new Majura parkway, pretty flat road so I was hoping to do a good time but didn't quite work out! Started really well, got into a good rhythm and was quite enjoying it. I decided to eat a bit more than usual today to try it out, so had a gel at 7km which didn't really feel like I needed, and another at 14km which I did need! I was starting to feel a bit at around 13km, then the last 7km were just a slog! It was hot, no shade, gentle uphill, and I struggled! I wasn't alone - one girl I'd been trying to keep up with stopped to walk with 3km to go, my 2 nemisises passed me at about 5km to go and 2km to go - but not very quickly and it seemed that everyone was finding it hard going in the heat. The last 2km were awful and I just wanted to stop! Was happy in the end to break 1:50, even if it was a long way off the 4:30km pace I'd been hoping for (and had done for first half!).

Swim in lake burley griffen! Had been quite nervous about doing this, but Cathy and I went down to Acton ferry terminal to swim at the marked course there. I was really nervous sitting on the edge of the jetty but thanks to Cathy i managed to swim to the first buoy ok, and got a bit more comfortable as we went on. At first I was finding it difficult to breath because I was quite nervous but once I started thinking about technique instead of where I was, it was much better. Felt like an absolute champion afterwards for having done it! Woo hoo!

I didn't sleep very well last night and had a bit of a sore throat so didn't really feel like running today but managed to drag myself out and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Felt pretty slow running but tried hard; 4 x 1km (2' jog) then 4 x 30" (30" walk). Very tired by end and a struggle home! Ran undulating tracks around black mtn/aranda on way home from work.

Long run in middle of day. It was pretty hot so ended up going to top of black mtn twice to get water! So bit of a hilly run in the end. Bit leg weary from Friday's big ride but felt ok considering heat.

Epic ride today! Made the most of having nothing else on and rode from home to blundells cottage, where I'd last left the centenary trail, then rode to Parliament House and did the centenary sections to tuggeranong and up to stromlo. Lost the trail a bit through Parliament House and tuggeranong town centre but rest was fine. Only 2 magpie swoopings and really nice and fun! Didn't love bit behind mugga but rest was great, especially red rock gorge and coolo ridge. Even made it back in time for shower and lunch before school pick up! And now I can say I've ridden the whole of the centenary trail :)

Ints on bike path around black mtn peninsula and towards home. Tough session - 8 x1' (1' jog), 8x45" (45" jog) the 2 x 30" (1" walk). Ran really hard and last few 45 sec ones were tough!

Mountain bike ride - rode over Bruce ridge to lyneham and up federal hwy to where I last left the centenary trail, then rode the majura Ainslie bit to the lake, and home through black mtn. Really fun!
