Running intervals 55:00 [5] 10.3 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Asics DS Trainers - Purple 201

Really tough interval session on the way to work. Ran on the bike path to lake and around black mtn peninsula. Broken 5km (2.5km, 1.5km, 1km with 2' jog recovery, aiming for 10km pace). First one had lots of downhill which was nice! Really hard, and aimed to go under 4:20min/km (couldn't quite on last one, but it was more uphill than the others). Really enjoyed it even though it was hard!

body balance class. It was so good! Very relaxing, and did the bird pose again! I reckon for a whole 2 seconds. Lots of nice stretching too.

Fun mountain bike ride from home through Arboretum to stromlo, a short lap around stromlo and then finished at Greg and Emma's. Really enjoyed it.

Long run with Al and Kathie around Aranda and Black mtn. Felt a bit weary in the legs and lots of hills. I did first 75 mins with the others then did another loop around Aranda which was a bit hard going as I was stuffed!

Intervals with Jo at Vincentia on the very very wet tracks! Lots of puddles but at least it wasn't raining! Did 4 x 800m (1' jog) (although actually I didn't finish the last one - i had to stop for a nature break!) and then 4 x 30" (30" walk). I was really stuffed on the last 800m one which was had a hill in it and struggled a bit, but otherwise felt ok and it was fun!

Intervals with Jo at Vincentia on the lovely forest tracks. Did 3 x 7' (3' jog). Was really fun but tough keeping up with Jo by the end! Really enjoyed it.

Tempo run - 20 mins at a tempo pace after a warm up. Didn't do the "usual" tempo loop and did a bit of a hilly lap around Aranda/Black mtn. Tough but really enjoyed it.

Body pump class at crazy early hour. Fun though! Eased off on the squats - not sure if they are ok for my knee or not (I think cathy said squats aren't great, but I should probably check with her about what i should and shouldn't be doing).

Extremely slow run in to work. Legs felt weary, especially up hill, but at least my knee didn't hurt! Really nice run in through black mtn bushland.

Australian running festival half marathon. Was a bit hard at first to find a rhythm because there were lots of people and the first km had the hill up to parliament house, but after a km or so I settled into a good pace, approx 4:30 min/km. I was feeling good, and had small sips of water or hydrolyte at each drink station, and was just a bit ahead of my splits for getting 98 mins. (I was aiming to beat 100mins, and hoping to do 98) I started to feel sore in the legs around 15k, and my km rate got a bit slower, but once I got to the 18km mark I felt I was close enough to the finish to try to keep pushing to the end. I was also running with another guy and we'd done the whole race together, so it was good to have someone to run the last few km with. My knee was hurting a bit on the outside, but not so bad I couldn't bend it like has happened before but still a bit annoying. Couldn't help thinking as I ran the last couple of km that maybe my knees aren't quite up to this sort of race anymore. I really enjoyed most of it, just felt a bit disappointed that I couldn't quite keep pace right to the end, but still happy with my time. Perfect weather for it, a bit overcast but not too hot or cold.

Ints with Al around Aranda/black mtn. 4 x 1km (1' jog) then after about 3 mins, 4 x 10" (10" jog). Tried to run at a good steady pace for the 1km ones. Enjoyed it and glad not to need headlight today!

Park run. Wasn't sure how I'd go today after tough couple of days training but felt quite good once I got going. Couldn't quite break 22 mins though! Tough but fun.

Road ride around Cotter/Urriarra. Quite enjoyed first 2 hours, but then I was cold and just wishing for a coffee! It's been ages since I'd done that ride and it was quite fun.
