Running 28:00 [2]

Had no sleep last night (well, a couple of hours but i had insomnia it was awful!) so i was determined to get up and go for a run! Felt pretty ordinary, but it was a nice run around Aranda bushland.

Running intervals 45:00 [5]

3 x 8' (1 min rest) on Gossan Hill. My "usual" loop is close to 8 mins - i got a bit past the corner on the first loop, just made the corner to do the 2nd loop, and 3rd loop i was really buggared and was about 70m short of the end! Was great tough session and a lovely evening.

Running 22:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:30 / km)

Borrowed Jase's garmin and tried to run at 5min/km pace to get feeling for that pace. Every km seemed to have something funny eg first km not warmed up, then a big hill, but at the times I was on a flat bit going at a comfortable steady pace it was about 5:02 so that's good! It was dark though and I was a bit cautious so I didn't maintain that all run.

Long run with Al at Mossy Point. Really nice run along beach for a bit and then on a nice bush track inland. It was flat and very nice! Tired at end of course, but in a good way.

2 x 10' with 2' rest on bike path at lunch with Susie. Hard work! I wasn't particularly fast either, timed a km in the middle at 4.40 (marked on bike track).

Long run - Majura, Hackett hill and half of Ainslie. Felt tired of course but held up pretty well, no pain in my glute just really tired by end with cramping hip flexors. Really enjoyed it!

Tried to do 10 x 1' on the ovals but I was really tired - both from lack of sleep and still leg weary from Tues xc. Decided to abandon after 5 slow and painful reps - how sensible am I?! Was a bit sad not to do a better session, but anyhoo.

Running race 32:19 [5] 7.0 km (4:37 / km)

Lake Ginninderra XC, 7km. Ran hard - tried to start out at a good tempo but suspect I started a bit too fast, i got quite tired about half way! Managed to keep up a good pace though and was happy with my time! Best of all, glute was fine, Yay!!

Ran at Blue Mtns (actually, the run included lots of walking up and down steps with running in the middle). Was such a nice run, really pretty and scenic. Felt pretty good!

Rode to work and then to orienteering. Tried to ride with high cadence.

Ran around Parly house at lunchtime. Glute was not too bad - could feel it, but definately less sore than it has been.

Cycling hills 1:30:00 [4]

Decided I shouldn't run the 10km race I'd entered :( so I went for a ride and did 3 reps of Black mtn. They were approx 13:40, 14:15 and 14:00. It was ok but I was very disappointed not to race.

Hills - at back of Aranda on hill that takes approx 1 min. 1st, 3rd and 5th hills I did as hard as possible - 1:06, 1:09, 1:10, and 2nd, 4th and 6th I did with high knees and arms focussing only on exaggerated technique, each about 2 mins. Sore glute

Running intervals 45:00 [5]

Intervals on Aranda oval - 3 x 400m with 200m float, then 2 mins rest, 4 x 300m with 100m float and 2 mins rest, then 5 x 200m with 30sec standing rest. Was pretty tough session! Glute/hip was bit sore, especially starting off after a rest.
