Cycling race 3:12:00 [5]

Cape to cape day 4, colonial brewery to dunsbrough. Thank goodness it was the last day, my legs are very sore! Fastest stage today with not many hills and lots of fast roads and rail trails. Got in a few trains so was riding really hard, especially once when I got dropped crossing a road and had to hammer it to catch back up. The last 5km was really technical single track and so pretty challenging because I was so tired. Felt so happy to finish and really proud of myself! Great event and really fun.

Cape to cape day 3, Xanadu winery to colonial brewery. My favourite day of the race so far! Great fun single track through the pines near Margaret river and really fun. I rode pretty hard and really enjoyed it!

Cape to cape day 2. Not as hilly as yesterday luckily, and lots of great fun single track. Rode with Clare for the last 10km and we were going pretty hard along the dirt roads through the vineyards to the finish. I couldn't keep up with Clare at the end! Another beautiful day and great fun.

Day 1 cape to cape. From cape leuwin to Hamelin bay. Very tough! Lots of steep hills and sand, and with lots of riders so some parts were a bit slow but that was fine with me! Really fun.

Orroral valley run. Loved it! Such a nice race. Pretty windy in the open area down the bottom but otherwise nice running conditions. Felt really good - although took a couple of km to feel really comfortable, but then settled into a good pace. Steady up the hill then pushed a good pace to halfway, then kept the pace going on the way back and pushed it a bit harder the last 4km. Was really happy with run and 1 minute faster than January. Could've saved a few seconds if I hadn't had to stop to tie laces!

Intervals at lunch on bike path around black mtn peninsula. Telford fartlek: 4' at 10k pace, (1'), 2 x 3' at 5k pace (1'), 3 x 2' (1'), 4 x 1' (1'). Supposed to get bit faster for each set. I felt like I couldn't go much faster and that actually I was quite slow! It was a tough session, and I felt a bit weary today. Lovely running at lunch - almost a bit hot! Hamstrings a bit sore.

Really great long run with Al in the beautiful spring weather. Ran a pretty steady pace, over to the arboretum, up dairy farmers, then over to black mtn up the southern spur and back. Really enjoyed it.

Tough session on the bike path near Lennox Gardens at lunch. 8 x 400m on a 2'30" cycle (1.34, 1.34, 1.38, 1.42 (uphill), 1.33 (downhill), 1.30, 1.35, 1.34), 4 x 200m on a 1'30" (45, 42, 43, 44). jog/walk recovery for the 400s, and standing recovery for the 200s. Quite enjoyed it and tried to focus on technique. Bit tired from yesterday but not too bad.

Long run at tidbinbilla with al up to Gibraltar rocks. It was such a nice run and great to get back into the long runs again. Felt not too bad.

Was supposed to ride the XC race at sparrow hill but it turned out it was cancelled which was a bit annoying! Luckily some alternate organisers held an untimed race which was a bit shorter than normal and not many people but it was quite fun. I rode most of the time by myself so not quite what I'd been looking foreword to but anyhoo. "Race" was 60 mins plus I rode for 20 mins or so before hand.

Sri Chimnoy 10km fun run from Acton Ferry terminal. Lovely morning but just didn't really enjoy it. Tried hard, but was a bit disappointed with my time. It was a tough run! Bit hilly, (out towards Yarramundi reach on the bike path) and I was on target for about 43 mins at the half way mark but struggled on the way back.
