Orienteering 1:53:00 [3]

Last day of the 5 days. Unfortunately the course was set at 1:15000 but the map was 1:10000 so the course was very long and tough. It had lots of loops and when I saw Grace at number 1, which was also number 19 of 27 controls, and that she'd started an hour before me, I knew it was going to be a long day! I just kept plugging on, although unfortunately I also made a few mistakes like doing one of the loops backwards so went from 5 to 7 then 6 then back to 7. Ah dear. Bit of a long day!

Day 4 of the 5 days at Rowdy Flat. Normally love this map but managed to make a real meal of my course today! Lots of mistakes. Bit frustrating!

Intervals around black Mtn and aranda (my usual Sunday tempo loop). Tough session and focused on technique and running at good pace for each interval. 30" (1'), 1' (1'), 2' (1'), 4' ('), 8' (1'). Really enjoyed it!

Running long 1:50:00 [3]

Long run at corin - square rock. It was great! Got a bit tired towards the end but managed to try and surge the last 10-15 mins (bit tough as it was up hill!). Very scenic and enjoyable.

Mountain bike ride at stromlo with Emily, Janine and Julia. Did some tricky tracks very badly - will have to go back and work at those rocks! Fun ride though, really enjoyed it.

Easy jog around aranda including a barefoot lap around oval. Legs felt a bit weary.

Rode home with ride up black Mtn. Felt like I was going really hard and strong but actually was very slow! Then home via bike path.

Intervals with al - 3 x (3' (1')' 2' (1') 1' (1' walk)). Tough but good fun and I tried to push hard. Felt pretty good but tired by end.

Got home early so went for a run up black Mtn and back. Felt so sluggish after a few days of lots eating at end of year events and training course (too many lollies!) so was nice to go for a run. Really hot though - 34 degrees!

Tour de ridges. Lovely morning and really enjoyed it. Tried to run at a steady pace and focused on running downhill as quick as I could (which isn't very quick!). Felt pretty good until last couple of km - tried to push hard right to the end but it was tough! Was very happy to be a bit quicker than last year :)

Black Mtn Challenge. New start (national museum) which seemed a bit flatter. I was about half a minute slower than last year but bit hard to compare since new course. Was hard to keep pushing up the hill and had to keep telling myself that of course it was going to hurt as it was all uphill! Felt ok though. I was 3rd female so scored a runners shop voucher - yeh!

Ran back to museum from top of black mtn. Ran with Lucy down the dirt tracks instead of the road which was really nice!

Intervals with Al around Aranda. It was cold! new record low (0 degrees). Actually it was quite nice... did 1 x 41 (2' jog), 2 x 2' (1' jog), 4 x 1' (1' jog) and 8 x 30" (30" standing). Felt a bit weary after not a great night sleep but still enjoyed it.

Not such a nice run - I did intervals at lunch and it was gale-force winds and I foolishly decided to run on the bike path around Lennox Gardens. It was so windy I just didn't really enjoy it! Did a broken 5 km (2km, 1km, 1km, 500m, 200m, 200m, 100m with 1 min recovery). Hard work!

Jogalong at the boat house. Was so hot and humid! Felt like I pushed it pretty hard, was certainly tired at the end. Turned halfway in 12:48 so bit slower on the way back but not too bad. Was going to run home after but it was too hot and I piked!

Really fun mountain bike ride with Emily at Stromlo. Did lots of tricky bits and it was really fun! Hot and windy but great fun.
