Ints on the ovals: 2 x 400m (100m jog), 4 x 300m (100m jog), 6 x 200m (100m jog), 8 x 100m (100m jog) with a bit of a rest between each set. Tough going! Felt pretty good today.

Ints on undulating Fire trails in black mtn in way home from work. 2 x 10' (2' jog). Quite tough especially first one with climb to saddle. Knee niggly in warm up but then ok.

Swam 1km straight with new improved stroke and did sub 23 mins! Still so slow but so very happy with that improvement!

Run with al around bottom of black mtn, up little track from arboretum side to summit, and loop through black mtn to home. I was a bit tired today but enjoyed run on beautiful morning.

Ride with Susie and Christie out to stromlo, lap around single tracks then home. Fun although I was a bit tired in the legs. No magpies and really enjoyed it.

Ints with al at usual aranda/black mtn loop. 5', 4', 3', 2', 1', 30", 20", 10" all with 1' jog recovery except for 2' after first int. I felt ok and really enjoyed it! Knee was ok too so am happy about that.

Slow jog around aranda (billy can track loop). Knee felt fine while running, much improved but still a bit tender to touch on side. Better keep up ice and roller etc., but happy that it seems to have settled down well.

Knee is feeling a bit better today after lots of anti-inflams, icing, roller and stretching. Will test it out for a run tomorrow... (it still doesn't feel quite right so will see how it goes)

Goorooyaroo half marathon (advertised as 21.1, I had 20.9 on my watch). It was great! Such a beautiful morning, perfect for running with clear blue skies, not too warm and just so picturesque. The bit out in the sanctuary at about 8km mark was so beautiful with the sun on the dew that I just felt so happy to be out running! I ran really well - ran steady with another woman for the first half, then got a bit ahead of her but she came storming past at about 5km to go and I couldn't stick with her. I felt good (although was a bit disappointed I'd left my gels in the car.... didn't really need one but it might've been good at the last drinks!) and was able to run a good steady pace. I did about 33 mins for first 7km, turned round at half way at 48 mins (approx) so didn't lose too much on the way back. I felt good until the hill at about 6km to go - I ran steady up it but got passed by a couple of people and then mentally got a bit weary, then with 5km to go i was noticing sore right glute, sore right hip flexor and my knee starting hurting. It was really unexpected - it's been fine lately! it hurt on the outside of my knee like at 6ft - and got quite painful. I tried very hard not to sook too much and keep going, and was very happy with my time (just under a minute slower than 2 years ago when i was really fit!). Afterwards though my knee was really sore... and it was just a bit weird. I don't know why it hurt today. Apart from that it was great fun! i loved it.

Planned to do some 2' ints on the way home but my watch froze and I couldn't reset it so just did some Fartlek instead. Ran home on bike path around lake. It was raining and cold but wasn't too bad once I got going.

Really fun mtn bike ride with Emily at stromlo. Some tracks were a bit worn and rocky so it was tough going but really fun.

Went for a swim and my shoulder was feeling much better than in Friday. I think I may have actually done my 20 laps in 23 mins! Pb!!

Long run with al over mt painter and the pinnacles, a loop through weetangera to her mum's, then I ran back home around mt painter and through aranda. Felt ok but it was almost hot! Very nice.

Had a swimming lesson today, but my shoulder hurt quite a lot from landing on it last weekend so it wasn't actually so fun today. I think I have improved a bit though so that was good to hear!

Ints on the same lovely tracks as Tuesday (still at Jervis Bay). Went running with Jase (he just jogged while I did some ints). Did 4 x {1' (1' jog), 2' (1' jog), 30" (1' jog). Tough but really fun, and felt pretty good. The last couple were really hard!

Went for a bit of a funny ride in a state forest near Husky on some trails built by the SCUM mtn biking club. I didn't have a good map and only rough idea of where to go, and although I found some nice singletrack I didn't enjoy it as much as I normally do because I was feeling a bit nervous about being out alone and not knowing where I was, and my arm was hurting a bit where it was bruised from Sunday. Rode for an hour then called it a day. Was quite fun though.

Went for run at beautiful Jervis Bay on the same walking tracks through the coastal strip of national park that we ran in at Hyams beach (we stayed nearby). Did 4 x 4' (1' walk). Felt pretty good and really enjoyed it, although my km rates weren't anything special! Lovely run though.

Went for a lovely mountain bike from weston park out to stromlo, did a mini-lap of stromlo (up to summit and down skyline and luge), then home following the centenary trail through arboretum, cork oaks, aranda, black mtn and bike path through bruce ridge. Was a lovely day and would have really enjoyed it except for magpie swooping number 1 (attacked and pecked my ear - blood), swooping number 2 (just annoying) and swooping number 3 (was totally over it, turned to look bird in the eye, turned back to path to realise i was heading straight for a light post, crashed straight into it and fell, and now have gravel rash and a very sore arm). But on the up side I have now joined up Eucumbene drive to watson in my centenary-trail-quest.

Ginninderra park run. Beautiful morning and felt really good! Wasn't quite a park run PB but only 7 secs off... was really happy with that! Really enjoyed it.

Gossan hill loop x2 (no rest in between). Aim was to do consistent times - I did 7:45 and 7:58 so not quite, but happy with those times. Felt good today and feeling more motivated again. Really enjoyed it and a lovely morning.
