Cycling race 2:57:00 [3] 50.0 km (3:32 / km)

Duo Classic at Kowen with Cathy. Really fun! We rode at a good pace and it was really fun. Lots of great fun single track and perfect riding weather (not too hot). Have a bit of a chesty thing but felt ok riding and luckily there weren't any really big climbs. The course was 2 laps of a 25km loop around Kowen and Sparrow. Really enjoyed it!

Running intervals 42:00 [4]
shoes: Asics DS trainers

Ints on the ovals. 8 x 2' (1' jog). Was supposed to do some 1' and 30" as well but wasn't feeling great. Have a slight chest thing and even though felt ok running, I was really slow and really struggled by the last one so decided to call it quits. Hopefully it will just turn out to be nothing!

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]

Fun mountain bike ride over to Stromlo through Arboretum/Green hills, met Nic and Roy at Stromlo and did a fun lap with them there, then back home via green hills again to pick some blackberries. Felt a bit leg weary still but not too bad. Nice to get back on the bike after our holiday!

Running race 1:41:31 [4] 20.0 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Saucony

Orroral 20km race. Really fun! I love this run. It was a slightly different course this year - 10km out and back instead of the 1km on flat road at the start (I think it was probably a little bit harder with an extra hill before the turn, although not a big one). I was really happy with my run and my time - just a couple of mins off my PB from 2012. I ran hard and steady and felt really good. I ran with another guy for most of the way but he got away from me on the big downhill with 4.5km to go. Last few km were hard work but I was happy with how I could keep going right to the end. Fun! Was first W40. My new Saucony shoes were great!

Swimming 25:00 [3]

Swam 1km at Dickson pool while kids were in swimming lessons. Lovely swim!

Exercises/Stretches/Gym 50:00 [2]

Body balance class. Really enjoyed it but abs track was hard!

Running intervals 47:00 [5]

Gossan Hill loops. Ran the first at steady pace (was pretty slow - 8'25") then tried for a PB on the second loop (7'51" - 10secs off) with 1' standing break. Followed with 2 x 30" (30" walk). Felt pretty good and knee was ok after being a bit niggly over the past couple of days. Fun!

Running 39:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel 2000

Did the old classic tempo run (middle 20 mins of run at tempo pace). Ran quite hard actually, just over 5min/km pace average incl the big hill! Really enjoyed it and felt ok. Knee felt bit niggly warming up but then was fine.

Ints at the aths track in Montmorency. Tough but fun session 400m (1:39), 800m (3:20), 1200m (5:05), 800m (3:2?), 400m (1:36) each with 1' walk recovery then 3' rest then 4 x 100m on a 1' cycle (each about 19sec). Felt good and really enjoyed it!

Running long 1:58:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony

Really nice long from daylesford. Down to lake d and along goldfields track next to sailors creek through lovely forest. Ran down to Bryces waterhole then back along roads through Hepburn springs to daylesford. Bit longer than I'd intended and I was tired running up central springs road, but really nice run. Could feel knee getting bit tender on the outside by end, but not sore.

Orienteering race 1:26:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony

Orienteering at St. Helens. Oceania long distance. Started course pretty badly but after first few controls I got into it and had a pretty good run for the rest of the course. It was tough going and I'm so slow running in the terrain but it was quite fun.

Orienteering race 1:03:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony

Orienteering at coles bay. Can't say I enjoyed it.... Really rough terrain and rocky and thick, then it started raining. Wasn't very motivated either but managed to get around!

Orienteering race 44:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony

Really fun orienteering at avoca. It was technical so I took it slowly, probably bit too slow but at least I didn't get lost! Love my new saucony trail shoes, they felt great.

Orienteering race 43:00 [4]

Relays near Scottsdale. Ran 2nd leg after tash, so was a bit nervous. Started ok but messed up 3 and 4 which were in green areas. Muddy, rough underfoot and hard going! Not sure I loved it but it was ok. I was tired afterwards from terrain running.

Running 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics DS trainers

Ran from Barry and Linda's place to aurora stadium for park run. Beautiful morning and enjoyed run but had to go at pretty steady pace to make it!

Running race 22:55 [5] 5.0 km (4:35 / km)
shoes: Asics DS trainers

Launceston park run. Missed start due to last minute decision to rush to toilet, so started at back and had to try to get past lots of people on narrow gravelly track. Ran just under 4:30/km for first 4km then struggled last km (did 4:50). So not great time but quite fun. It was pretty warm and humid.

Running 30:00 [3] 4.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Asics DS trainers

Ran a slightly shorter way home. Quite a lot of up hill back home! Felt ok though and really enjoyed the run.

Running race 22:34 [5] 5.0 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: Asics DS trainers

Park run at westerfolds park. Really fun! Hilly course but beautiful morning and really enjoyed it. Felt good and tried to maintain effort - last km was great fun nearly all downhill!
