Running 30:00 [2]

Easy jog at coast, including 10 mins along beach barefoot. Legs felt ok going up hill but sore running down!

Orroral Valley Classic 20km. Such a beautiful run, definitely my favourite long off-road race. I loved it. I wanted to run a good pace but didn't want to go out too hard, so just went steady for first part along the valley, then a good pace up the big hill and tried to keep a good steady pace out to the turn-around. I was feeling pretty good up the hills so pushed it a bit harder coming back - its only very gentle up hill but pretty steady back to the top of the saddle, then I knew it was mostly downhill and only small hills back, so I just went as hard as I could. At about 1.5km to go I realised the 4th place woman was gaining on me and decided that I wasn't going to let her pass me at that stage of the race so I had to sprint the last km. I was completely stuffed at the end but it was great. Food note for future reference - I think I'll just stick to a banana pre-race though. I had a weetbick and milk as well as a banana, it wasn't too bad but my tummy was feeling a bit funny, and was a bit gurgly after the water during the race. Gel went well at halfway mark though.

Intervals - just a short session 4 x 1min (1 min jog recovery) then 4 x 30 secs (30 secs recovery). Felt a bit sluggish again today, just a bit tired.

Jog around Aranda. Felt pretty bad - not leg weary, just lethargic and slow. I think it might've been because i really had a huge dinner last night and i still felt full.
