Deep Space Half Marathon. Every bit as tough as I'd remembered! Did a bit better than last year by not going quite so full-ball down the hill, and also had a gel at halfway. But still it was super tough - the climb is brutal! I also find the downhill really hard going and got passed by a lot of people. Even the flat is hard as you feel like you are constantly changing gear! I was a bit disappointed not to break 2 hours but really it wasn't so bad I guess. Last year the last couple of km were really bad, but today I was able to finish strongly. Still not sure how hard to push the downhill, but I was happy to run my own race today. Was third female and happily scored a bottle of wine! :). I think I'll pass on this event next year though.... And my calf muscles are killing me!

Really nice mountain bike ride round Bruce Ridge with Emily, Nic and Nic's friend Lisa. Was fun to get out for a ride!

Taper session - 5 x 1' (1' jog) and 5 x 30" (1' jog) around bottom of Aranda with Al. Didn't feel super-sprightly but better than I have all week.

Ran from work to orienteering at Radford (mostly on footpath and bike path). It was a bit rainy but warm so pretty nice running. Felt a bit better today.

Intervals in the morning on my Sunday-tempo-run loop. 4 x 1km with 1' jog. My glutes are SO SORE today I didn't know if I'd make it! Luckily the big hill was split over the last 2 ints so i got a little rest halfway up :)

Such a slow recovery jog around Aranda. My legs are soooo sore from running all the downhill yesterday (and possibly not stretching or warming down....)
