Running long 3:24:00 [4] 33.4 km (6:06 / km)

Long run from Mt Franklin with Al today. Have been feeling a bit weary so wasn't looking forward to long run but turned out great. We ran from the Mt Franklin car park along the fire trail towards the Cotter, with side trips up Mt Ginini and Mt Gingera. It was a beautiful morning with spectacular views and luckily not quite as tough going as last week's long run! Unfortunately I made a bit of a maths miscalculation (was tired!) so we ran further than required for a 3 hour run before turning round, and meant we ended up running for 3.24. Good training I guess but I was pretty tired for the last 25 mins! Actually I was pretty happy with how I held up - not too niggly (just a bit of a crampy hip). Also, practiced walking up the steep bits of Gingera in prep for 6 ft - my legs always burn when walking but realised it's because I power-walk to make up for not running so slowed it down a bit and found that it wasn't really much slower than running and much more of a rest. Good to know.

Weights session. Nearly didn't go, feeling a bit tired but was good to make sure I did my physio exercises.

Intervals with Al around Black Mtn/Aranda Hill. 3 x 7' (2' jog) then 3 x 30" (30" recovery). Tough session! Felt a bit weary, but not too bad given big training week. Felt like I was able to push through and enjoyed the run.

Rode to work and to then orienteering. Was very slow and weary (reluctantly rode for transport reasons!)

Rode to work then to orienteering. Rode pretty slowly!

Body balance class. It was especially good today - lots of hamstring stretches which were great!

Tough hill session today! Ran home from work through Black mtn reserve and did hills on way home. 2 x 5' hill with a 1' rest at the top, then ran hard down. 2' rest before repeating. Legs were weary but at least no sore niggles. Started at junction of old weetangera rd and link fire trail, then went up to a water bar up the summit track, so it was pretty steep for the last minute or so! Did 5:04 and 5:05 up, 3:24 and 3:23 down. Was hard work as still a bit tired from Sunday.
