Swimming 24:00 [3]

Swam 1km. I focussed on my technique and I think I might've actually broken 24 mins! Pool was back to short course, boo. I don't know if that makes it easier or harder... harder to count laps, more push offs from the wall. Either way, it was a nice swim.

Goorooyaroo half marathon. Course PB! Very happy with that. Nice morning, bit cloudy so not too freezing for a 7am start. Took a km or so to settle into a steady pace, and then felt like I was going pretty well. Got a bit tired on hill up towards the turnaround point at halfway, but had a gel and some water, and saw Shannon just after turning around and she said "stay strong" which was a perfectly timed encouragement! I was just thinking 'eek' about the hill and feeling like my legs were starting to tire. Lots of encouraging comments from other friendly runners kept me going, and I made sure to focus on technique and get back into rhythm for the rest of the race. Had a sip of water at 14km, focussed on getting up the hill at a steady pace to 16km mark, then knew that last 5km would be ok as mostly downhill or flat. Had another gel with 5km to go and kept up pace, only slowing very slightly so I was really happy about that, and so pleased to get a PB! Really fun. Knee was feeling sort of weird but I'd taken a couple of anti-inflams before race and that seemed to help, and foot was totally fine today! It's felt a bit better the last couple of days.

Swam 1km during the day. Tiny bit faster than in the mornings and enjoyed having a lane to myself.

Ran around little black mountain at lunch with Kate. Very nice to get out at lunch and I enjoyed the run. Didn't feel amazingly good for some reason, but not too bad.

Intervals at "the tan" in Melbourne with Jase! Fun to be able to run with Jase although I wasn't feeling the best ever. Did 5 x 1km (1' jog). First one was terrible, and the others weren't much faster, but pushed hard and felt better for it.
