Orienteering race 44:02 [3] 3.3 km (13:21 / km)

QBIII - Day 3 at South Central
Another technical challenge and great physical workout. Was not my best day today and let myself get distracted by others and did not take time to have a good plan. The first few controls was almost like a mass start as most women over 35 were basically on the same course.
#2 - panicked a bit and started looking for control too early (lost 2 mins)
#4 - no AP - lost another 1:45
#8 - stopped 1 gully too early and started fossicking (lost 3 mins)
#13 - should have gone straight
#15 - bad exit from control - here goes another 1:45

Disappointed with my navigation but was only 4 mins behind Alison Inglis who ran 40:48. However, Liz Abbott raised the bar considerably by racing around the same course in a speedy 33.52. Apparently Liz's tip of the day - use yellow, yellow, yellow as much as you can. Must be true.

Orienteering race 1:02:13 [3] 6.1 km (10:12 / km)

QBIII - Day 2 at Malang
I was really looking forward to this challenge and Josh Blatchford's course setting was living up to it. - #3 - I lost 2 mins by scrambling along a rocky hillside and should have approached control from opposite direction.
#5 - slowish on long leg and struggled to work out top of the hill on my map but luckily came across a saddle and things made perfect sense again. Big sigh of relief. - #8 crap bearing cost me another 2 mins. ... when will I learn. - A few more small errors but overall very pleased with run and result. Won W45 :) - Great warm up for Swiss O-week.

Orienteering race 14:56 [3] 2.0 km (7:28 / km)

QBIII - Day 1 at Brummagen Creek
Beautiful weather conditions for fun sprint event in fast terrain with some erosion gullies and 2 bridge underpasses. Only handicap were those vicious Tiger prickly pears that stung quite a bit and grass seeds that reminded us of Easter up in Queensland. 15 minutes racing time followed by 45 minutes of grass seed picking... - Started off slow and steady and caught up to Alison Inglis after which we had fun racing together. Very happy with run and was 2 mins ahead.

Herman Wehner's 90th birthday attracted local media and we all sang for him before he gave a lengthy interview. I want to be like Herman when I grow up. I probably have to reduce my alcohol intake to keep some brain cells as sharp as Herman's.
