Note

I just learned that my cousin coaches Nathan Cohen, Olympic gold medal rower. Cool. Wonder if he has any tips for kayakers.

Note

I just learned that my son is ranked 20th in the state for his age for XC. Cool.
Wonder if my cousin has any tips for runners.

running (Off road) 57:40 [3] 5.64 mi (10:13 / mi)

Beautiful day out at Harders. Its t-shirt weather still. remind me of this day when July's heat comes along.

My legs are *still* tired. May be a two day recovery period next. Trying hard to listen to my body.

I learned today that my garmin loses 1/2 min mile on current speed in the trees. It read up to 11:15 when I know I was sub 10. How do I know? As soon as I was off the back path, it jumps back up consistently, even though the next bit includes a hill. It's not even a heavily wooded area. Wide road, with trees on each side.

running 58:59 [3] 5.9 mi (10:00 / mi)

To the Bayou. Almost got lost. Trusted my instincts which worked out fine.

My legs are still pretty tired from Saturday. My pace started with 10:30 but picked up a bit as I warmed up.

Sad thing, my ipod looks dead. It got wet on saturday. Unthinking, I plugged it in to charge. I looks like it's shorted out.

MC did his first morning conditioning run. He has sore toes. What would cause a third toe to be very painful on the underside?

Note

I managed to figure my chip time from yesterday. Remember that fella from the start? I found his time. His chip and gun were 10 secs apart. That puts mine at 24:49. Still surprised that it was so hard. Garmin was started part way in and forgotten about at the end. Garmin says I went down to 7:29, 6:54 at the end, which explains the sore legs. Very uneven pacing.

I put on a game for the XC team today. Only one girl showed up. *sigh*
