Running 31:07 [3] 4.4 mi (7:04 / mi)
ahr:159
I did a 15 min then a 20 min tester over the past 4-5 days, with rest days between.
I decided to treat myself to 30 mins this morning seeing as though my x-ray was this afternoon.
Things felt fine throughout, in terms of the injury, but my hamstrings were screaming by the end due to the shock of running..no wonder people find it hard to get into running!
Not really sure how the injury has responded today, as everything hurts as a result of the shock of it all. Will try another 30 min run on thurs if things react ok.
The Xray appeared normal, but hopefully they will now refer me for the MRI to see if there is any bone swelling.
My Vitamin D test showed an abnormality that will require supplementation, which makes sense for a number of reasons. It probably won't change anything but I see no daylight between November and February and often get injured in this period. I will continue to try to run unless things get sore.
I really enjoyed my run. I love it so much. I am a little dismayed at the timing of getting back into running however.. as it doesn't really give me time to peak for anything before I then need to have a pre- marathon training break.
I cant be arsed aiming for a quantifiable event such as a 10k or 5k. So I think I might focus on the hills and just enjoy some training to feel. With a view to having a bash at the uphil only trial which is on May the 31st and will be perfect timing. I can also use cycling well as part of this training.
